10.16.26 Family Message
Greetings Gearity Families:
3rd Grade Fall Reading OST: 3rd grade students will take part 1 of the Fall reading OST on Tuesday, October 20th and part 2 on Wednesday, October 21st. The test in 3rd grade is given paper and pencil and will set a baseline for student mastery levels with the 3rd grade curriculum. Students will take the test a second time in April - they must pass the test to qualify for promotion to the 4th grade. The state will take the student's highest score so we want maximum effort on each administration. Please make sure your 3rd grade students go to bed early to ensure that they are well rested and eat a hearty breakfast. We will get the results of Fall test in mid-December.
Report Cards: Mrs. Blade will mail report cards home the week of October 26th.
Spirit Week is Coming! Our PBIS team will be meeting next week and one of our agenda items is to plan a Spirit Week for October 26 - 30. The culminating theme day will allow students to come as their favorite book character or as a future career as a means of celebrating Halloween. More details to come...
PTA needs your help: The PTA is planning a bake sale fundraiser on election day (Nov. 3rd) as Gearity hosts a polling station. We are requesting donations for the bake sale and the proceeds go back to your family through PTA programming. We sent home a flyer with a QR code to sign up to donate. If you did not get the flyer in your student's back pack you can use this link. If you would like to join the PTA, you can use this givebacks link to pay the small membership fee. Our next meeting is scheduled for October 27th.
Dentists are coming: The Smiles Program will be at Gearity on November 24th. If you would like to have your students participate in the program you can register using this link: https://www.myschooldentist.com/GPCHOH_schsrm
Have a great weekend,
