Principal's Message
Dear Neubert Families,
Another week of learning is in the books here at Neubert! Our students have been working hard, staying engaged, and showing what it means to be respectful, responsible Neubert Knights. As the cold winter weather continues, please remember to send students to school dressed warmly for recess and arrival/dismissal. Also, please note that our classroom Valentine’s Day parties will take place on Thursday, February 12th this year.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support at home and for partnering with us to help our students thrive - academically, socially, and emotionally.
Your Partner in Education,
Ms. Nicole Bryan, Principal
Neubert Elementary School
Neubert Staff Shoutouts
At Neubert, we are so lucky to have such a dedicated and caring staff! We invite you to take a moment to recognize a staff member who has made a difference for your child(ren) or family. Your personal messages will be sent directly to the receiving staff member. Your kind words mean so much and help us celebrate the amazing work happening every day!
The Kids Heart Challenge
Neubert is participating in the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge! Families can support by joining online at http://www2.heart.org/goto/neubert, downloading the Kids Heart Challenge app, or scanning the QR code. Students can complete “Finn’s Mission” to learn about heart health and kindness while raising funds for the AHA. As fun incentives, any student who raises $50 or more or completes Finn’s Mission will get to silly string Ms. Bryan and the admin team! Classes can also compete for a mystery prize, and students who meet fundraising levels may earn chances to win sports tickets and other exciting rewards. Let’s work together to help save lives and have some fun along the way!
School Improvement Plan (SIP) Progress Update
We are making strong progress toward our School Improvement Plan goals this year and are proud of the growth our students and staff are showing across multiple areas:
-
Attendance: Chronic absenteeism has decreased from 12.5% to 9.8%, bringing us very close to our goal of 9.5%. This reflects improved student engagement and consistent school attendance.
-
Behavior: Daily behavior incidents have dropped significantly, from an average of 3.8 per day to just 2.0, showing positive growth in student self-regulation and school climate.
-
Student Belonging: 94% of students report having a trusted adult at school, moving us closer to our goal of 95% and highlighting strong relationships across our building.
-
ELA (Reading): Student performance continues to rise, with winter i-Ready progress monitoring results showing 59% of students on track and an overall 3-5 grade average of 58%.
-
Math: Winter data shows steady progress through i-Ready progress monitoring, with a 3-5 grade average of 50% meeting or exceeding expectations.
Overall, we are seeing encouraging growth in academics, attendance, behavior, and student well-being as we continue working toward our goals for the year. We should all be very proud of our hard-working Knights! 💙
February: Black History Month
February is Black History Month, a time for our school community to honor and celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of African Americans. Throughout history, leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, and many others have shown courage, perseverance, and a commitment to justice that continue to inspire us today. This month, students will learn about these important figures and the impact they have had in shaping our nation, while also reflecting on the values of respect, kindness, and standing up for what is right.
Families play an important role in helping children understand and appreciate history, culture, and the values of respect and inclusion. Here are a few simple ways to engage in meaningful conversations and learning at home during Black History Month:
Read Together
Visit the library or use online resources to read books by and about African American leaders, inventors, artists, and everyday heroes.Watch and Discuss
Enjoy age-appropriate videos or documentaries about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, or other historical figures, and talk about what your child learned.Family Conversations
Ask your child what they are learning at school about Black History Month and discuss why courage, fairness, and standing up for others are important.Explore Music and Art
Listen to music by African American musicians or look at artwork by African American artists, then talk about how culture and creativity tell important stories.Create a “Hero” Spotlight
Have your child choose a historical figure to research and create a short poster, drawing, or slideshow to share with your family.Acts of Kindness & Service
Talk about how leaders like Dr. King made a difference through service and kindness, and look for ways your family can help others in your community.Visit Virtual Museums
Take a virtual tour of museums such as the National Museum of African American History and Culture and explore exhibits together.
These at-home activities help reinforce what students are learning in school and support meaningful conversations about history, leadership, and respect for all.

Lost and Found
Updated 01/23/26
We have coats, hats, snow pants and gloves waiting to find their way back home. A few gloves are even still searching for their long-lost matching pair! Please take a moment to review these Lost & Found pictures for any items that may belong to your student.
To help lost items make a quicker reunion in the future, we encourage families to write students’ names on their belongings. A name goes a long way in helping us return items faster. Thank you for helping keep our Lost & Found from growing! 😊
