Although we are still 16 days away from the first day of winter, I think we could all agree that it has arrived! If you have not already, please reach out to our main office to update your child’s primary adult contact phone number if there have been any changes. It is critical that the Family Access system has this accurate information for our robocall system in case of school delays or closures. Please remember that you can always check the district website for any changes in school schedules as a result of inclement weather.
Calling all WatchDOGS….just a reminder that we would love to have male role models in our students’ lives come volunteer for a day at school! Here are the steps again to become a WatchDOG for the day at Emerald Hills:
Step 1: Complete a Sumner School District Volunteer application:
https://www.sumnersd.org/Page/2807
Step 2: All WatchDOGS must be listed on the child’s account at school as a “guardian or emergency contact” person. If you’re unsure, please call our school office to confirm.
Step 3: Sign up on our official WATCH D.O.G.S. calendar:

We celebrated our Laker of the Month winners for November with assemblies last Friday and are so proud of all of our students for demonstrating “gratitude” throughout the month! Our December Laker Purposefull People Character Trait is “Empathy…The ability to understand and connect to the feelings of another.” Your follow up at home reinforcing your child as he/she demonstrates “empathy” each day would be a wonderful home-school connection. The background for our Laker Purposefull People Character Traits can be accessed through the Character Strong website. Thank you for raising such amazing children that desire to be Purposefull People and for your continued support of our school community.
Have a wonderful holiday season!
