Hyer Elementary Art: PreK, Kinder, and 3rd Grade
We are feeling the love at Hyer with all of the art this month! We’ve got Love Monsters in PreK and Kinder from the book by Rachel Bright, LOVE letters inspired by Robert Indiana in first grade, and impressionist bouquets inspired by Bertha Morisot in third grade!
Hyer Elementary Music: 4th Grade
4th grade students performed rhythms containing quarter notes, quarter rests, and eighth notes on music stands along with an accompaniment track. Student leaders came up to turn the music stands to change the rhythms and there was a student leader who kept the beat for the class. Ms. Beard, Mrs. Conklin’s student teacher, taught this fun lesson.
University Park Elementary Art: 2nd Grade
UP 2nd graders kicked off Lunar New Year 2025 by learning the legend of how the celebration got started and the importance of the holiday in many Asian countries around the world. Students also learned the 12 animals of the Zodiac and want to wish you all an awe-sssss-ome and pro-sssss-perous Year of the Snake!
University Park Elementary Art: 3rd Grade
UP 3rd Graders are WILD about WEAVING! Students learned how weaving has been used throughout history and looked at different kinds of looms before warping their own cardboard looms. Once finished, kids will tie their weavings onto a dowel rod and add hand-created pom-poms or beads to complete their colorful wall hangings.
