Attendance is Important

Please make sure that you call in (833-662-6228 press 5 then press 1) prior to 8:30 if your child is going to be absent so that we can record the reason before we begin making contact. If communication is not received in regard to student absences a few things may happen.

  • You will receive an automated message letting you know your student is absent.
  • You may receive a personal call from our office staff.
  • You may receive a visit from our SRO, or Kylee Waite, our MCR2 Social Worker.
  • You will receive our 3-day, 5-day and 8-day attendance letters regardless of calling in. These letters are board policy and are sent to all student families when they hit the 3, 5, & 8 day threshold.
  • As a building we are striving to be higher than a 95% average EACH MONTH.

New Communication Platform Called "Rooms" Part of the MCRII App

As a district, we have moved to a new communication platform. As some of you have experienced, we have run into a few snags in our rollout of the new resource. Please download the MCRII app and modify your notifications so you know when messages are sent your way.

Once a "Room" is created that impacts you or your student, you should not have to "accept" it. It should just appear. There is also the option within the feature to send messages to staff members.

We are working on fixing the barriers we know of. If you are experiencing a barrier, please reach out and let us know.

Calling the school and using e-mail are still completely appropriate methods of communication if you prefer.

Morning Drop Off Procedures

This is a reminder that only students & staff will be allowed in the building during morning drop off time. The entrance by the powercat will be open at 7:30. The drop off line is for people to pull up, drop off and drive away. You are welcome to walk your student to the front door. If you wish to get out with your student, PLEASE PARK in a spot to do so. Parking in the drop-off line creates confusion and is not safe for our students.

For the first two days of school, parents/guardians WILL BE allowed to walk their student to the classroom. We ask for your cooperation in making this drop off as quick as possible to minimize the number of guests in the building at one time as our students will be learning new procedures. School starts at 7:50 with a virtual morning assembly. When that begins, we ask that all parents/guardians exit the building.

Please help us prepare your student for the first day. If your student does not want to eat school breakfast, they should go directly to their classroom. If your student is eating school breakfast they should go to the cafeteria, get their grab and go breakfast and then go to their classroom to eat.

Students that ride the bus will need to know upon entering the building if they are eating breakfast or not. This will help us get them into the correct line.

Food Money

  1. We encourage you to fill out a Free & Reduced Meal application to see if you qualify.

  2. If you do not qualify and your student eats meals at school, the fees are as follows:

    1. Full price breakfast - $3.30

    2. Full price lunch - $3.70

    3. Reduced price breakfast - $0.30

    4. Reduced price lunch - $0.40

  3. Extra milk and milk break costs $0.50 per student no matter the free and reduced status.

  4. Students are not allowed to charge more than $10. If your student owes more than $10 then they may be offered an alternative meal in lieu of the daily lunch choice.

  5. Please send in meal money in a labeled envelope. If you are interested, there is an option to pay online through the online parent portal.

  6. Past due balances will be sent home most Friday’s and texted to you..

  7. District phone reminders for balances under $5 will begin soon. You are welcome to send in money or pay online at any time.

  8. As always, if you have any questions, please call the Jonesburg Elementary Office. 833-662-6228 ext 4101.

Clothes & Shoes recycling Bin at JBE

We have partnered with USAgain to collect clothes and shoes. This company will pay us 2 cents for every pound collected and will plant a tree (somewhere, not on our property) for every full bin. The bins are located on the southwest corner of our building. We will start spreading the word to the community soon and hope it will help the earth and raise a bit of money for our donation account.
