SCHOOL INFORMATION
NEW: October 15th PreACT/PSAT Info
On Wednesday, October 15th we will have a special schedule due to PreACT/PSAT testing in the building.
All sophomores will be taking the PreACT and testing in classrooms. Juniors who signed up for the optional PSAT will test in the gym.
Freshman will be in-house doing breakout sessions with their community teachers in the S wing. Information will be shared out to students through their community teachers.
Juniors NOT taking the PSAT will attend a field trip to the Hollywood Theater to learn about careers in Prop Design, Art Directing, and Video Production. This event will count towards a CRLE required for graduation. You can print a permission form and view a flyer for this event here. Please see Martin Rodriguez in the Career Center for more information and to pick up a permission form ASAP. Drop the signed form off in the main office or in the College and Career Center by Tuesday, October 14th.
Seniors will participate in a variety of presentations and workshops in-house. Entrepreneur and electrician guest speakers will start off the morning in the library which will count towards a CRLE required for graduation. Personalized Learning Requirements (PLRs) workshops will be offered in the Career Center. College related presentations around connecting Common App to MaiaLearning and Scholarships will be available, as well as, a workshop on applying to Oregon Promise.
Attendance:
October 15th is still an instructional day, therefore attendance is required for all non-test takers to partake in activities and will be released early that day at 1:30pm.

A handful of volunteers are needed to make this opportunity possible. If you would like to chaperone, please fill out this google form. The form will close once seven folks have signed up.

ICE Protocols from PPS
We know that recent national events and news about immigration enforcement have created real fear and uncertainty in our community. We have heard from many families who are worried about their safety, their children’s well-being, and what role the school district will play in protecting them.
We want to be clear: our schools are safe spaces for every student. Portland Public Schools is committed to providing an environment where students can learn, grow, and feel supported regardless of their immigration status.
Please read the following information, outlined in Board Resolution No. 5363, Rights of Undocumented Students and Protocols for ICE Access to Schools.

No snowboarding experience is necessary!
The snowboarding season runs January 7th through late February, with state competitions occurring in early March, 2026. Practices are every Wednesday at Mt. Hood Meadows. A bus will leave Cleveland High School at 2:00pm and will return at approximately 10:30pm each week. There is also a bus for Meadows on many weekends, either Saturday or Sunday for competitions.
Competitions take place on the weekends for 4 events: Border Cross, Banked Slalom, Slopestyle, and Half Pipe. Riders do not have to compete but are encouraged to give it a try. Remember, no experience is necessary; lots of riders have started out their snowboarding journeys with the team! We want our riders to enjoy the amazing winter atmosphere and awesome fun of snowboarding on the mountain.
Please come to our Information Night on Thursday, Oct 16th from 7:00-8:30pm at NEVER COFFEE, 4243 SE Belmont. https://www.southeastsnowboardteam.org/
