The Wallin Way Weekly Newsletter
Friday, January 16th
Good Evening K9 Families,
This was such a wonderful week at Wallin Oaks!
We had the joy of celebrating our Highest Risers on the winter i-Ready assessment. Students who showed the most growth in ELA and math in each classroom were recognized with a special Celebration Walk through the school, where they were cheered on by their classmates—what an incredible moment of pride and encouragement! After the parade, our honored students enjoyed a sweet treat with a slice of pie alongside me and Miss Helland. It was such a fun, meaningful way to celebrate their hard work and growth.
We also held our Battle of the Books for our 4th and 5th grade students! Teams worked together to read a variety of books and then competed by answering thoughtful, challenging questions that highlighted their comprehension, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. It was wonderful to see our upper-grade students so engaged and enthusiastic about reading.
We are so proud of all our students and the effort they continue to put into their learning. As a friendly reminder, there is no school on Monday. We hope you enjoy the long weekend and wish you and your families a wonderful one!

School Information
Attendance and Transportation Reminders
We kindly ask all families to notify both the classroom teacher and the main office if your student will be absent for any reason. Clear communication helps us ensure accurate attendance records and maintain a safe, organized school environment.
Additionally, if there are any changes to your child’s transportation plans—such as switching from a bus rider to a car rider—please inform the main office directly. Our office staff will relay the information to the appropriate teacher.
Lastly, for the safety and efficiency of our drop-off procedure, please pull all the way forward in the car line and have students exit the vehicle on the side of the school.
Thank you for helping us keep everything running smoothly!
Pick Up and Drop Off Reminders
Morning Drop Off
For the safety of all students, we kindly ask that families do not park at Ira Jones during morning drop-off. Instead, please use the designated car line, which is designed to keep traffic moving safely and efficiently.
To help maintain a steady flow, we also ask that drivers remain in their vehicles at all times during drop-off. Following these procedures ensures a safe and smooth start to the day for everyone.
Afternoon Pick Up
Please remember to turn off your car while waiting to pick up your student after school. Running cars pose a safety risk for students and teachers walking up and down the car lines, and it's also important to reduce the fumes in the air for everyone’s health. Thank you for helping us keep our school environment safe and healthy!
