November 23, 2025
Good Morning,
There will be a half day for all students on Wednesday 11/26. Dismissal is at 10:45 a.m. This is a busy traffic day as all of WPS will be dismissed at the half day. Please be patient as vans drop off times could vary depending upon traffic. We appreciate your patience.
We at WECC, want to extend our warmest wishes for a happy and restful Thanksgiving to all of our families who will be celebrating. May the long weekend bring joy, connection, and moments of gratitude with those you love.
Please note: There will be no newsletter on Sunday, November 30. We look forward to reconnecting with you the following week!
From Parent Council: Be sure to check out the Parent Council section of this newsletter for the most up to date information.
Old News:
School Community Belonging Survey
As part of Weymouth Public Schools' strategic planning, we need your help in creating a shared vision for Inclusive Practices - one that truly reflects who we are as a district and what we value as a community. This vision will paint a clear picture of what inclusion looks and feels like in our schools: where every student, staff member, and family feels welcomed, respected, and supported. Together we will define what it means to belong in our district and ensure that every classroom and school reflects that commitment.
Your feedback here will help us understand how welcomed, respected, and supported everyone feels in our school community. Your responses are confidential and will guide us in our work. There are 7 questions estimated to take no more than 10 minutes.

The Winter Workshop is just around the corner!
Weymouth Early Childhood Center’s Parent Council is excited to announce the
annual Winter Workshop to be held on Wednesday, December 10th and Thursday, December 11th.
Parent Council is looking for volunteers to help with the Winter Workshop. If interested please, send an email to weccparentcouncil@gmail.com. Parents that would like to volunteer must have a CORI on file. Please call the school office to set up a CORI appointment at 781-335-0191.
What is the Winter Workshop?
This special event gives students the chance to “shop” during the school day for holiday gifts for the important people in their lives. It’s always a joy to see the thoughtful treasures they select!
All students will have the opportunity to choose four gifts for four loved ones of their choice—parents, grandparents, siblings, pets, aunts/uncles, cousins, or anyone special to them.
Please see the schedule below for your child’s shopping time. This will help you determine when you may like to volunteer. We appreciate your support in making this event magical for our students!
Weymouth Educators Association Food Drive
The WEA is accepting all non-perishable food donations to support the Weymouth Food Pantry. We have a box located just inside our front door. You are welcome to send in any donation with your student or drop items off at the front office.
We thank you for supporting Weymouth families!

Backpack Connections
How to Help Your Child Recognize and Understand Anger
About this Series
The Backpack Connection Series was created by TACSEI to provide a way for teachers and parents/caregivers to work together to help young children develop social emotional skills and reduce challenging behavior.
Each Backpack Connection handout provides information that helps parents stay informed about what their child is learning at school and specific ideas on how to use the strategy or skill at home.
