HISTORY MADE!!

Huge congratulations to our incredible Girls Soccer team on capturing the PAC Championship with a 1-0 victory over Owen J Roberts on Thursday 10/22. The goal was scored by Jessa Greenberg with 10:12 remaining in the game.

This is not only the program's first ever PAC Championship, but the first time ever qualifying for the tournament! This brings the girls season to 17 wins and 13 shut outs, both new team records! Penny Wolf was the goal keeper that now has that 13 shut out record!

Congrats to the entire Girls Soccer program, including head coach Bret Smith and assistant coaches Colleen Wolf, Cynthia Mumford and Stacy Pokorski.

Girls Soccer Semi-Finals

In the PAC semi-finals, Methacton's dream season rolled on in the most exciting way possible, with the resilient Warriors outlasting the defending PAC champion Rams to reach the first league title game in program history. The victory was also the school record 16th win for Methacton. Grace Mumford, Tessa Dwyer, Brooke Cowan and Bryce Gisondi all converted on penalty kicks, with Gisondi's serving as the decisive blow.

Penny Wolf made eight huge saves to earn her 12th shutout in 19 games. The result was an exhilarating rubber match on the hells of two regular season classics. Methacton won the first meteing, 2-1 on September 8th thanks to a pair of Mumford goals. The Rams exacted revenge on October 1st with spring ford netting the game's only goal in the 69th minute.

Only two years ago, the girls soccer team had only won 3 games.

Reminders Reminders

SportsYou- HS and MS Sports/Clubs Communication App.

We are so excited to kick off the school year with you and your student! To improve communication and streamline our platforms, Methacton Athletics and Activities is launching a new communication system this fall: SportsYou.

SportsYou is a secure, school-safe platform designed specifically for middle and high schools. Moving forward, SportsYou will be our single, official app for all athletic & activities communications.

Key Features:

  • Syncs calendars so you can view all events across multiple activities in one place.

  • Supports two-way direct and group messaging between coaches/advisors, parents, and students, all backed by district administrative oversight.

  • Protects student privacy by allowing only the coach/advisor and administrators to communicate with students and view student information.

  • Stores all data securely in the U.S. Your information is never sold, shared, or transferred.

To ensure student safety and transparency, all team/group-related communication with coaches/advisors must take place within SportsYou. Coaches/advisors will not communicate via text messages, social media, or third-party messaging apps (district email and Google Classroom remain acceptable exceptions).

Next Steps:

  • Watch for an Invite: Your head coach/advisor will either add you and your child directly or send a code to join. If you do not receive access before the school year begins, please reach out to the coach/advisor via email. Note: SportsYou does not permit students under the age of 13 to use the app. Parents/guardians must be responsible for communication for students under 13.

  • Download the App: Search for SportsYou in your mobile app store.

  • Enable Notifications: Turn on push notifications in your phone settings to receive urgent schedule changes and updates directly on your home screen.

Pay to Participate

The Board and administration of the Methacton School District are committed to preserving extracurricular activities and athletics for our students because we believe these opportunities are integral to a well-rounded education. In order to offset some of the costs of providing these programs, the district requires that participating students remit a “pay to participate” fee. The activity fee helps to reduce the operational costs for secondary extracurricular activities and athletics. Students will be considered ineligible for their activity or sport if the fee is not paid.

The "Pay to Participate Fee," will be assessed per student only to students in grades 7-12 who participate in the following extracurricular programming:

  • All MHS and Arcola athletics
  • The MHS Marching Band (includes Jazz Band, Winter Guard, and Winter Percussion)
  • The MHS play and musical
  • Arcola Musical Participants

Fees for students will be:

  • $75 - one-time fee for MHS students who participate in one or more sports, and/or applicable activities at MHS.
  • $50 - one-time fee for Arcola students who participate in one or more sports and/or the Arcola musical. Arcola students participating in the HS Marching Band or Theatre Productions pay the Arcola $50 fee, not the high school fee.

Students who qualify for the free and reduced lunch program will not be expected to pay the fee. No student shall be denied participation in extracurricular or athletic activities due to their inability to pay the fee. Families with financial concerns may contact the Athletics & Activities Office to determine if other arrangements may be made for payment of the fee.

  • Individuals who wish to pay by check may request forms necessary to remit payment from the MHS Activities office at 610-489-5054.

If you have questions or concerns, please call the athletics/activities office at 610-489-5054.
