Principal's Message
Good evening, Yowell families,
This is Mrs. Fiscus with your weekly update.
We had a great first full week together! Our students are settling into their routines and our classrooms are busy with learning.
Musical auditions for Disney’s The Lion King KIDS will be held Monday and Wednesday morning from 7:30 to 8:30. We are so excited to see our Stallions take the stage!
I also want to encourage every family with students in grades 1-5 to purchase the Chromebook Protection Plan. The plan costs $30, covers up to two incidents of accidental damage this school year, and must be purchased by August 28. After living with student Chromebooks for a full year, I can tell you that accidents happen, and that is exactly what insurance is for. It is in your best interest to purchase the protection plan rather than take a chance on receiving a repair bill from the CCPS Technology Department. You may pay by check to Yowell Elementary or through SchoolCash Online.
We still have a limited number of yearbooks from last school year available for $15. Please send exact cash or a check made payable to Yowell Elementary if you would like to purchase one.
We are also looking for family members to join our new Parent Advisory Council. This group will meet monthly with administration to discuss school initiatives and events and provide feedback from our families. You can find the interest form in this week’s newsletter.
Finally, families of students in Pre-K through third grade, please remember that an adult is expected to meet your child at the bus stop unless you have completed the form allowing your child to be dropped off without supervision.

Leftover Yearbooks for Sale!!!
We have a limited about of yearbooks leftover from last year. If you are interested in purchasing a yearbook from last year, please send exact cash or write a check to Yowell Elementary for $15.

Thursday: French Toast Sticks & Fruit/Cheese Bites w/Marinara Sauce or Chef Salad
Friday: Egg Biscuit & Fruit/Fish Treasures w/ Dinner Roll or Peanut Butter & Jelly

Transportation Information
In an effort to assist schools and parents with current information about bus changes, transportation has added a new item on their website called: Transportation - Morning Update. The direct link can be found here. Also, this is the direct link to transportation.
Parents of students Pre-K through Grade 3 are expected to meet their children at the bus stop. Failure to do so will result in the child(ren) being returned to school. Should you choose to allow your child(ren) to be dropped off without supervision in the afternoon, please fill out and return this document.
We will be posting departure times for buses each day to assist parents with receiving their child from the bus stop. Please check this document each afternoon.

School Resource Officer (SRO)
We are happy to have a School Resource Officer (SRO) this year at Yowell. You can contact Deputy Kameron Buckhanan with any concerns you have with school safety or anything that would be related to criminal activity.
