District Procedures on Immigration Officials Accessing School Sites District Procedures on Immigration Officials Accessing School Sites

Dear Centennial School District Community and Staff,

I am writing to provide an overview of the Centennial School District’s established procedures when outside officials (including Immigration and Customs Enforcement) request access to our schools, our students, or students' records. These procedures reflect our legal obligations and our longstanding commitment to the health, safety, and welfare of all students, staff, and families, as affirmed by the Board of School Directors.

Our Commitment to Students and Families

The Board of School Directors remains committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for every student in Centennial. Consistent with this commitment, the district maintains clear, consistent procedures to ensure student safety, protect privacy, and uphold nondiscriminatory practices whenever outside officials seek access to our schools or student information.

School Access Procedures

When law enforcement or other government officials request access to a school, the district follows its established protocol:

  • All visitors must report to the main office, present proper identification, sign in, obtain a visitor badge, and state the purpose of their visit, in accordance with Board Policy 907 and Administrative Regulation 907-AR-0
  • School administrators verify credentials and review any documentation presented.
  • Parents or guardians are notified if their child is the subject of an official request, when possible.

Student Records and Privacy

Student records are maintained in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Access to student records is permitted only with written parent/guardian consent or a valid court order or judicial warrant. The District does not collect or maintain information regarding students’ immigration status.

Authority of Building Principals

Under Board Policy 907, building principals are authorized to limit access to school facilities, restrict visitors to designated areas, and modify procedures as necessary to protect student safety. District administrators will reference this guidance when responding to immigration-related requests at school sites.

These procedures reflect our continued commitment to student safety, privacy, and a learning environment where all students feel secure and supported. We appreciate the trust and cooperation of our community as we uphold these important responsibilities.

Sincerely,

Abe Lucabaugh

Feedback Requested: 2026-29 Comprehensive Planning Feedback
2026 - 2029 Comprehensive Plan

Dear Centennial Parents, Guardians, Community Members, Faculty, and Staff,

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requires school districts to develop a Comprehensive Plan on a three-year cycle. Centennial’s 2026–2029 Comprehensive Plan is due for renewal by March 2026 and includes district priorities, goals, instructional strategies, and required state assurances, along with companion plans such as Gifted Education (Chapter 16), Induction (Chapter 49), and Professional Development (Act 48).

In Spring 2025, Centennial convened a Comprehensive Planning Steering Committee made up of faculty, staff, administrators, students, parents, community members, and partners. The committee and its subgroups worked collaboratively throughout Spring, Summer, and Fall 2025 to develop the draft Comprehensive Plan and required state reports for submission by March 31, 2026.

As part of PDE’s required 28-day public review period, this Thoughtexchange includes the following draft materials for feedback:

  • A one-page overview of the Comprehensive Plan

  • The full draft Comprehensive Plan

  • Draft Induction Plan (Chapter 49)

  • Draft Professional Development Plan (Act 48)

  • Draft Gifted Education Plan Assurances (Chapter 16)

We invite you to review these materials and share your feedback through this ThoughtExchange to support informed decision-making and community input.

This Thoughtexchange will remain open until Monday, February 9, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

Centennial School District Day of Service 2026 Centennial School District Day of Service 2026

On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the Centennial community came together to form groups of items for those in need. We packed bags of school supplies, toiletries, and books for our Farmers Market, made toys for dogs in a nearby shelter, and made fun gnomes for a local retirement community!

We are grateful to everyone who has committed to our initiatives, including the Centennial Farmers Market and the Food Pantry. Days like these demonstrate the strength of our local community when we work together. It was a great day celebrating the legacy of Dr. King!

McDonald Elementary Teacher’s Passion Project: Fostering Empathy in Students McDonald Elementary Teacher’s Passion Project: Fostering Empathy in Students

Our students at McDonald Elementary School dedicated last week to spreading kindness and hope. They spent the day assembling goodie bags for cancer patients at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Kindergarten teacher Sabrina Escaleira launched this project in honor of her mother’s brave fight against cancer. By participating, our students discovered the true meaning of empathy and realized that you’re never too young to make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Centennial School District Partnership with Bus Patrol Centennial School District Partnership with Bus Patrol

In February 2026, Centennial School District, Warminster, Upper Southampton, and Ivyland Police Departments will launch a partnership with Bus Patrol, a school bus safety program in line with PA Motor Vehicle Code § 3345.1.

A fleet of 65 district buses has been modernized with advanced safety technology, including photo enforcement cameras to detect vehicles that illegally pass stopped school buses. This initiative aims to reduce dangerous driving behavior and enhance student safety. According to the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services (NASDPTS), school buses are estimated to unlawfully pass more than 45.2 million times each school year in the United States.

“At Centennial School District, student safety is at the heart of everything we do. Our partnership with BusPatrol helps protect children as they get on and off the bus and reinforces the importance of safe driving in our community,” said Jim Wertman, Director of Operations.

Classlink Migration - Complete! Classlink Migration - Complete!

As of 12/26/2025, we have completed a successful Classlink migration. As we return to teaching and learning in this new year, all students and families will see a new login portal for Classlink:

Classlink parent portal screenshot
zoom_out_map Show in original size

Student Login Credentials

Please select “Sign in with Microsoft” whether you are on a Chromebook or an iPad.

When students are prompted to enter a username and password to log into Classlink (on Chromebooks or iPads), they will need to utilize their entire email address, including the domain, as a username. This is a change from previous logins, where students could just use the first half of their email for their username.

  • Example: For a student named John Smith graduating in 2038:

    • Username: 38smitjo@stucsd.org

Students will continue to use their passwords and images as part of their log-in process. This will be a daily process for Chromebooks and a one-time process for iPads.

Student Troubleshooting

Sometimes, devices remember a previous login email that may not be connected to your account. If you are receiving an error message when trying to log into Classlink, consider troubleshooting by clicking the green "Microsoft Login" button on the top of your screen:

Brief AI Update Brief AI Update

Hello CSD families!

The district has made the decision to discontinue Google Lens as an AI solution on student devices effective 1/5/2026. Students in Grades 6-12 will continue to have access to Google Gemini, which provides the same AI solutions as Google Lens but within an environment that can be better monitored and supported by our teachers and the Office of Technology. Students in Grades K-12 will continue to have access to Magic Student (when enabled by their teachers.) We continue to thoughtfully provide opportunities for our students to engage with emerging learning technologies in supported learning environments.

Centennial School District is proud to participate in the GIANT Feeding School Kids campaign!
zoom_out_map Show in original size

From January 1st to March 31st, all shoppers at GIANT, MARTIN’S, and GIANT Heirloom Market stores are invited to round up their bills to the nearest dollar. The funds raised will support Feeding School Kids. Additionally, customers can contribute by converting their CHOICE Rewards Points into donations through the GIANT app.

Following our return to school after the winter holidays, we kindly request our school community to spread the word about the Feeding School Kids initiative to ensure its success. Our objective is to provide support to the children in our district who require the most assistance in accessing nutritious meals and snacks. The funds will be directly allocated to our district’s food organization for their discretion in addressing food insecurity within our school community.

We are thrilled to partner with The GIANT Company in our fight against childhood hunger. Please join me in supporting and advocating for this initiative to ensure that no child in our district experiences hunger at school or at home.
