🔭Spectacular Science Family Night🔬 🔭Spectacular Science Family Night🔬

zoom_out_map
In April 2024, the Cherokee Nation partnered in our Spectacular Science Family Night by providing two hands-on exhibits. Hornet students and families learned more about coding through the use of Ozobots and they loved it! Students were able to design their own codes, as well as follow a template provided to them. The Cherokee Nation also provided an interactive exhibit which allowed our students to build towers out of pipe cleaners, testing their engineering skills. It was a fun night of learning and growth. Wado!

Mrs. Shelley-Pre-K

Mrs. Shelley does such an incredible job implementing the language in her classroom every single day! Her kids are top notch and know nearly every one of these words! Great job, Miranda! We appreciate you!

I (Tashina) attended my very first moccasin class taught by Mr. Wade Blevins! It was a great experience, can't wait till the next class!

My First Moccasins

I (Tashina) attended my very first moccasin class taught by Mr. Wade Blevins! He did a great job, I really enjoyed making them and listening to Mr. Wade's knowledge he shared about the history of moccasins! Follow Kansas Cherokee Community Organization on Facebook to learn when the next class may be!

Cherokee Club Cherokee Club

We are finishing up the year celebrating our success by implementing some fun activities to go along with our studying! Last week we planted corn, gourds, and pumpkins! I challenged each kid to take it home and care for it and send my a picture over the summer when its grown! This activity is to teach them how they used to have to grow their own food and tend to their gardens. We are still studying for the Challenge and Language Bowls as well, but without the stress of time! I always enjoy this time with our kids because they have worked so hard all year long, they deserve some fun in club!
