Parent Teacher Conference Sign Up
Parent-Teacher Conferences are next week! These meetings are a vital opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, celebrate their progress, and partner together to support their success this school year.
Please use this link to sign up for a conference time with your child’s teacher. To ensure every family has an opportunity to meet, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
One Slot Per Student: Please reserve only one time slot per child.
Shared Conferences for Split Households: We ask that parents from dual households attend a single joint conference so that everyone receives the same consistent information and updates regarding their child.
Virtual Options Available: If you are unable to attend in person, we are happy to accommodate virtual meetings upon request.
We look forward to collaborating with you!

A Note from Mrs. Lehnert
Happy Friday, NRE Families!
Multicultural Night Success
I would be remiss not to highlight the incredible success of Multicultural Night in this week's newsletter!
A huge thank you to everyone who made the evening so memorable. Despite having to move indoors, the event was a roaring success with a fantastic turnout. It was truly inspiring to see our community come together and celebrate the rich, diverse cultures that make NRE such a special place.
Special thanks to Mrs. Morgione, Ms. Lien Lǎoshī, our wonderful PTO, and all the incredible volunteers who worked tirelessly to set everything up inside our building. We couldn't have done it without your hard work and dedication!
Book Fair Excitement
This week was also our Book Fair! It is always so fun to see our students get excited about reading—there is truly nothing quite like getting a brand-new book. A big thank you to Mrs. Peck, all of our wonderful volunteers, and everyone in our community who supported the event and helped make it such a success! Keep reading!
Staff Tailgate Potluck
Our staff ended the week with some friendly rivalry and fantastic food at our Tailgate Potluck! Many teachers and staff sported gear representing their favorite teams and enjoyed an impressive spread of game-day snacks, including delicious dips, sliders, and cookies. It was a wonderful way to celebrate team spirit together!
Spread the Word About NRE!
If you have neighbors, friends, or family members who have heard you share all the wonderful things happening at Northridge Elementary, please pass this along—Open Enrollment opens next month! We are excited to offer school tours (link) to prospective families and show them what it truly means to be a Pronghorn. Help us grow our incredible school community by sharing this information with anyone looking for a great school home!
Smiles,
Erin

How Would the Trades and Career & Technical Education Classes Benefit From the Potential Passage of the 2026 MLO?
CTE Student Highlight
Addi’s journey in education has truly come full circle! Currently enrolled in the Future Educators Program at Legacy, she is completing her practicum hours at Northridge Elementary—the very same school she attended as an elementary student. In an extra special twist, she gets to learn under the leadership of Mrs. Lehnert, her former teacher who is now NRE's principal!
Watching Addi pursue her passion with such dedicated focus while still in high school is nothing short of inspiring. By the time she graduates, she will already have earned valuable college credit hours toward her teaching degree.
Programs like these are in high demand across our community, and long waitlists mean many students miss out. Passing the MLO will provide critical funding to expand the our CTE programing, helping DCSD offer these transformative opportunities to even more students like Addi. We are so proud of everything she has accomplished so far, and we truly hope to see her return to Douglas County School District as a classroom teacher one day!

Coat Drive
Bring your unneeded winter gear (jackets, gloves, hats, boots, etc.) to NRE starting Friday, September 18th. We will have bins in the front lobby to drop off things you no longer need. Also, take a look in the bins or on the rack for anything you might need! Consider it a swap - give what you don’t need and take what you do need. You do not have to make a donation to take something you need. We want to make sure all NRE kiddos have warm gear this winter!
The Coat & Costume Swap will end on Friday, October 9th.
Lunchroom Volunteers Needed
Our Kitchen needs your help. Please consider signing up for a "regular" day and each week (as you are able) you can come in and be a consistent presence for the kiddos here at NRE! They love to see parents and grandparents in their school!
Here is the sign up! Lunchroom Help Volunteer Sign Up
We appreciate any help you can provide!
