Dear LMS Families,
Welcome to April, let's hope for some sunny and warm spring weather. I hope that everyone had a chance to relax over spring break. April is the start of state testing for every district across the state and we are no different. It is very important that your student charges their Chromebook the night before testing, eats a good breakfast, and gets a good nights sleep. Please encourage your student to give their best effort. 8th Grade
PSAT 8 - April16 - The PSAT 8 is an online format. The format of the test has changed, with both Math and the Reading portion being completed by students online through the Bluebook App. This app is already downloaded on student Chromebooks. We have had one practice session already and the final practice session will be April 10th. 8th grade students will test on April 16th.
Students were given test tickets that allow them to login to the Bluebook app at anytime and take practice tests. I encourage students to login and take some time becoming familiar with the test.

Counselors' Corner
We are thrilled to share that we held our first Spring into Wellness event right before spring break! The event was a resounding success, with students participating in various breakout sessions designed to promote both physical and mental health.
- Sessions Included:
- CPR Training
- Hygiene Practices
- Vision Board Creation
- Yoga Classes
- Mindfulness Activities
- Movement Matters
These activities not only provided valuable skills but also fostered a sense of community and well-being among our students. As we focus on the well-being of our students, we encourage parents to help foster healthy coping skills at home. Here are some ideas to consider:
- Encourage Open Communication: Create a safe space for your child to express their feelings and worries.
- Practice Mindfulness Together: Engage in activities like deep breathing or meditation.
- Promote Physical Activity: Encourage daily exercise, whether through sports, family walks, or dance.
- Establish Routines: Consistent daily routines can help manage stress and create a sense of security.
- Limit Screen Time: Encourage breaks from technology to engage in other activities.
Your support in these areas is invaluable as we work together to help our children manage stress and develop resilience.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Gambrel (A-K Counselor) & Tiffany Roehrig (L-Z Counselor)
Assistant Principals Corner
Hello LMS Families,
We are very grateful to have made it to spring break and I hope you and your family all had a chance to relax and recharge. One big reminder as we get ready to finish out this school year strong is to make sure you are having conversations and checking what your student is wearing before they leave the house. As the weather gets warmer and the outfits change, our dress code policy does not. Every spring the dress code violations go up with the decisions that some of our students make. This is a policy that we will continue to follow and not let up on, along with the cell phone policy. Our students have done a great job with both and it is our hope we will finish the year strong.
On the topic of cell phones, please remind your students to make smart decisions while participating in or being at athletic events and field trips. Athletically, the spring season is a little different than the rest with being outside and some teams being much bigger than others. Students will have times where there isn't an adult right by their side at all times. The expectation for their behavior and representing themselves and us does not change. We want everyone to have a great experience and to continue to make good decisions. This is also a quick reminder that students will not be allowed to participate on field trips if they have received 2 major referrals or 5 referrals in total. This is something that we have talked about multiple times with our student body at our class meetings and it should not catch anyone off guard.
As always, we appreciate the support we get from home. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you ever have any questions. Go Eagles!
