K8 Community Memo
July 24, 2025
Good Evening K8 Families,
I hope you are all enjoying these warm summer days—whether that means time at the lake, backyard adventures, or simple moments together as a family. As we savor the joys of summer, I want to take a moment to express deep appreciation for the courageous and dedicated firefighters working tirelessly to battle wildfires across our region. Their efforts are a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience within our greater community.
With just one month of summer left, the countdown to the first day of school—Monday, August 25—has officially begun! I hope you find time to squeeze in a few more adventures, memory-making moments, and some rest before we dive into the excitement of a new school year. Below, you'll find a calendar of important upcoming events to help you plan ahead.
As you begin thinking about back-to-school preparations, you’ll also find the updated school supply list included below. This is a great time to help your child ease back into learning mode by encouraging some regular reading time. If you haven’t visited the brand new Loon Lake Library, I highly recommend it—it’s a beautiful space filled with wonderful resources and a cozy reading vibe perfect for summer days.
I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone soon, especially at our Open House and Community Block Party on Tuesday, August 19 from 4–7 PM. This is one of our favorite events of the year! You’ll have the chance to tour classrooms, meet staff, explore community resources, play games, and enjoy a family dinner together. It’s a fantastic way to kick off the year with connection and celebration—I hope to see you there!
