PE Update
Lacrosse and Pickleball are the sports in P.E. right now for 1st – 5th graders! We continue to work on hand eye coordination and the ability to utilize the lacrosse stick/pickleball paddle to catch/connect with the ball.
Kindergarten students are STILL playing tag games! These games work on spatial awareness, kindness, cooperation, strategy, and aerobic activity! We are continuing to work on gross motor movements – walking in a straight line, jogging, running, skipping, galloping, hopping, etc. Ask your child to show you their skills!
Just a friendly reminder that we will have Field Day in May. Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 7, 2026! This fun-filled day is a student favorite and we LOVE to have lots of parent volunteers for it! There will be more information soon!
Thank you!

Music Updates...
Hey! Welcome back to the Fox Hollow Music Room! We have some super exciting things upcoming this half of the school year!
First! Choir Club starts back up on February 3rd! Please sign up using this link! Returning students from the spring semester do not need to pay more to continue attending (please sign up again though!). Choir Club runs from 2:45-3:40 on Tuesdays. A full calendar of the dates are in the sign up link. As of right now we are planned to return to the Grandview Art Show on Apr. 22nd. In addition, we are tentatively scheduled to return to help sing the National Anthem for the Rockies Game on the evening of Apr. 17. Ask any students or families from last year. We had a blast!
Second! 3rd and 4th graders will be starting our (in?)famous recorder unit in February! I’m asking all 3rd and 4th grade families to provide a recorder for each of their students in those grades. Please read the Recorder letter for your grade!:
If providing a recorder for you student is going to cause a burden on your family, please email me and we can figure out how to make it work!
I’m always available for an email if you have questions!

STEM Update
Students will continue with the Lego Derby through December. Students will design cars out of legos to meet different categories ie; fastest, slowest. They will race their cars down a track and using the design process, make changes to improve. Even if your child’s grade does not come to STEM class this year, I will try to schedule a time over the next few weeks, for them to enjoy this activity.

Asthma & Winter Weather
Winter can be hard for kids with asthma. Cold air, indoor allergens, and respiratory illnesses can make breathing more difficult. Here are some simple tips to help:
Common Winter Triggers
- Cold air can make airways tighten and cause breathing problems.
- Indoor allergens like dust and pet dander build up when windows stay closed. This can irritate airways and cause coughing.
- Colds and flu can make asthma worse by adding mucus and swelling in the airways.
Tips to Help Your Child Stay Healthy
- Reduce allergens: Change air filters, clean often, and use an air purifier or humidifier (keep humidity between 30–50%).
- Avoid irritants: Limit candles, strong scents, and sprays that can bother sensitive lungs.
- Prevent illness: Get a flu shot, wash hands often, and keep away from people who are sick.
When to Call a Healthcare Provider
- Your child is coughing or wheezing more than usual.
- They need their rescue inhaler more often than normal.
- Breathing looks hard or fast, or you see skin pulling in between their ribs when they breathe.
- Symptoms don’t get better after using rescue medicine.
- Anytime you are worried about their breathing or overall health.
With these easy steps, you can help your child with asthma breathe easier and stay healthy all winter long!
Please reach out if you have any concerns about your student's Asthma.

School Breakfast:
Parents, if your child will be joining us in the mornings for breakfast, please know we open the doors at 7:40 am. We allow all kids in for breakfast at 7:40 so they can have plenty of time too eat. Please send them to the front doors and tell them to ring the doorbell and tell us they are here for breakfast. If they arrive early, we do not let them into the cafe until 7:40. We have had many kids come in after 7:50 for breakfast and then end up being tardy to class. Also, if your child rides the bus and they need breakfast please remind them to go straight to the cafe when they get here. We do send kids to class at 7:55 so they can get to their classroom on time. Thank you for your help!
