Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
We hope you all have been hanging in there with these weather fluctuations! Our students came into the week in winter coats and finished the week looking forward to wearing shorts over the weekend!
We’ve had a chance to recognize some of the outstanding students that we have at Batavia High School. On Monday, our state-level Mock Trial team was recognized at the Board of Education meeting, and we finished the week hosting the county-wide Future Forward Conference on Thursday. Our High School Musical students held a dress rehearsal on Thursday, performing The Addams Family, with the show’s kick off tonight! Check out the flyer in this newsletter for more information. We hope you get a chance to enjoy watching our talented students.
We’ve also added a flyer with some information about Prom. Please remember that the prom is for the students in eleventh and twelfth grade and their guests. Ninth and tenth grade students are not permitted to “tack on” to older students to be their “plus one”. Ninth and tenth grade students are permitted to attend if they are a date of a BHS junior or senior.
Attention senior parents: We’ve included a link to order the senior T shirt. Please make sure you order soon as there will be NO EXTRAS.
Next week is our final week going into spring break. When we return on April 7th, we will be fast approaching the state-testing season. Please take special note of the details about testing schedules that will be communicated with you next Friday.
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello, Families.
Warmer weather is coming for the weekend. Hopefully, we all get a chance to get outside and enjoy some of it.
Congratulations to all of the hardworking students that took part in The Addams Family over the weekend.
Also, good luck to all spring athletes as their seasons begin to kick off.
Reminder, please have your student see me if you still want a parking pass for the last quarter.
Have a nice weekend.

Local Scholarship applications were distributed to BHS Seniors on February 27th. A copy of the Local Scholarship Application has been emailed to all seniors, is linked below, and is posted on the Guidance website so that students who are not on the BHS campus have access to the application as well. The application is due March 25th. Email Directions for Local Scholarship 2026
SchooLinks Access for Parents:
What is SchooLinks? SchooLinks is a new online platform Batavia is utilizing this year that provides a variety of tools designed to help students explore and collect information on colleges, careers, and tracking how they are meeting their graduation requirements, as well as developing a plan for after high school. Guardians can track their student's progress and support their journey toward post-secondary success. The attached document gives guardians directions for logging into SchooLinks and viewing their student’s account.
Scheduling Information and Grade Level Presentations:
Individual student graduation plan meetings will be taking place during February and March.
All grade level scheduling presentations and the course selection guide are included below.

Even if you were a CCP student in this current school year, you must still attend a virtual or face to face meeting and complete an intent form to continue with CCP for the 26-27 school year.
Great Oaks Application Information for BHS 10th Grade Students:

Grant Career Center Application:
Grant Career Center has many program options for juniors and seniors and some senior only options for students that decide later in high school that career tech is the avenue they would like to pursue. Seniors can also apply for two year programs and will be considered if there is room. It is important to remember that students who attend Grant must provide their own transportation. The Grant application link is open, the priority application deadline was March 1. Here is the link for the information about all of their program options and the application: Grant Career Center
The FAFSA Application is Open!!!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!
The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.
For additional assistance with FAFSA completion, please visit itsforyou.org, and look under the “Looking for FAFSA Help?” section for more information
