Wishing Everyone a Wonderful Summer!

We hope all of our Wise Owl families find time over the summer to adventure, enjoy the great outdoors, rest and relax, cozy up with a good book, and perhaps try something new. Wishing each of you a wonderful summer!

4th Grade Parade

At 10:30 on Thursday morning, the fourth grade students will begin lining up for their traditional celebration parade over to the Middle School! Learners from other grades, teachers and staff will line the halls, and our Essential Arts teachers will lead the way with drumming and music. The rising fifth graders will march through the halls of UES one last time, and out the front doors, preparing to head to Main Street Middle School at approximately 10:40am. They will stop and take a photo outside UES before heading down Park Ave.

Families are invited to clap for learners along the route. If you are able to join us, please station yourself on the *opposite* side of the street from our walking route. This will help us avoid congestion and will give you the best photo opportunities.

We will parade to MSMS starting at approximately 10:45am to arrive there at 11:00am. Students will meet their new 5th grade teachers and spend some time with their new 5th grade class.

Dismissal for our rising 5th graders will be at 11:45 from Main Street Middle School on Thursday. Please make sure your new middle schooler knows their dismissal plan! Students who ordered bag lunches from the cafeteria will get them at the middle school.

Sincerely,

The Fourth Grade Team

Step Up Day & Placement

Kindergarten

Our Kindergartners are enjoying their final day of school today, including a chance to do a brief meet and greet with Grade 1 teachers. All K learners are coming home today with their Learner Placement letter for the 2023-2024 school year in a sealed envelope. Please don't hesitate to contact the main office if your learner's letter does not make it's home for any reason.

Grades 1-4

All grades 1-4 learners will be coming home with their Learner Placement letter Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday, all 1st-4th grade students will have an opportunity to step up to their new teacher, before they head off on Summer Break.

Placement decisions are made by a collaborative group of teachers and administrators who have put a great deal of time and thought into each decision. This process included reviewing a Learner Placement Caregiver Questionnaires that were turned in back in April. We are confident that the placement decisions we have made for the upcoming school year have set our learners up for success and are excited for the new learning communities to sprout in August!

Caregiver Social Tonight (!) Monday June 12, 6pm

Let’s gather, laugh and celebrate the end of the school year! We wanted to have one last, informal social time together. Come join us on Monday, June 12 starting at 6pm at the UES upper playground. Bring your family and any food, snacks, refreshments you would like. We’ll gather as long as everyone wants! Check our Facebook page here for updates on Monday, incase of bad weather.

What a year! Here’s what we did and donation request
Thank you to all UES caregivers for making this school year magical. Because of all of you, we were able to again focus our efforts on providing fun, meaningful acts of appreciation for our amazing UES staff. Additionally, we were able to host UES community events, including bringing back UES Loves Books Week and supporting the Lip Sync event! Click Here to see all the wonderful things we were able to accomplish during the 2022-2023 school year.

In order to continue these fabulous activities into the next school year, we are asking for a small donation. Any amount that you can contribute will allow the UES Caregivers Alliance to start next school year with the much needed funds to begin our activities and events first thing in September as learners (new and wiser) come to UES. Please follow the link that will bring you to the UESCA donation page. Please make your contribution of any amount by June 16. Thank you! Caregiver Directory!

If you didn't fill your kid’s class directory, this is your chance! If you filled this form last fall there is no need for you to do it again, but a number of parents have expressed the desire to meet during the summer and have everybody’s information. Please fill it out by today!, June 12th, and we will send the updated directory to everyone.
