Academy Announcements

Dear Academy Families and Friends,

The new school year is off to a great start. In just a day and a half of school, we've had Grade 1-5 get acclimated to the new school year as well as kick off our Positive Behavior Interventions & Support (PBIS) platform, setting high expectations for students throughout the building. At Academy, we R.O.A.R. with pride with each letter represent those key values we instill on our students with the goal of positive citizenry and robust school climate.

Other important notes:

The students learned about the ROAR expectations in the classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, cafeteria, playground, and of course on the buses.
Kindergarten Orientation was this past Friday. There were so many bright new faces and families attending. For those families new to Academy please revisit the the Top Lot Parking lot procedures as well as parking off campus if you want to walk your children to doors 13, 15, & 17. For parents driving their children to school, there will be adults up top to let you know where to park as well as when to unload. Our Kindergarten ESPs will be at the line-up place to greet the children and walk them down to class.
Tuesday, September 10th is our annual Open House from 6-8PM. Please come with your youngsters and see our classrooms and school. It's a great way to connect and get ready for the new year ahead. At Academy we're all about our strong school community!
The Academy driveway closes at 9AM daily to all traffic and then we unload the Top Lot cars. Cars are dismissed one row at a time back down the ramp and out to the Avenue. At dismissal, the top lot is closes at 3:10PM, so please don't be late.

Lunches are free. We serve hot lunch and fun lunches (bagel, cereal, grilled cheese, turkey sandwich) daily. Please complete the free and reduced meals form as it can lead to other possible supports that were part of the program.

Tomorrow begins our first full week at Academy with all our students together for the first time! We are very excited and look forward to seeing all our families at the Open House!

Reminder: The school day starts at First Bell (8:50AM) and the late bell rings at 9:05 AM. Please make every effort to have your child present and on time every day! The end of the day bell rings at 3:15 PM.
