Updates from Your Primary DLS Team - 01/05/2021
Schoology Reminders
- Never change a course name
- Never delete a course (if you must, you can un-enroll yourself, but never delete it)
- Update Your Schoology Profile Picture: If you have not included a profile picture in Schoology here is a short video to show you how. If your profile picture is turned sideways, it is due to the file type that you used (often from a picture taken on certain phones). You can either place that photo into a photo editor and save as a jpeg, or just use another picture for your profile picture.
Schoology Overview - Information Deck This document walks you through many aspects of Schoology...check it out! This document is also in the Elementary Recourse Schoology group as well for future reference
Digital Onboarding Part 2 - DEADLINE EXTENDED
We’ve received your feedback and enacted it into Part 2 of the Digital Onboarding. You will now have the option to “test out” of the sections. You can skip to the quizzes or assignments for each topic and if you achieve the minimum score you may proceed to the following section. Completion of Part 2 will be due January 15, 2021. Part 2 is focused on streamlining hybrid learning and taking some of the district resources to the next level. NOTE: you can find part 2 in the Digital Onboarding course you joined in August.
FRIENDLY REMINDER: Only the highest score from all your QUIZ attempts will be displayed after submitting...the grade will change when you answer the questions correctly.

This update is included in the TAC User Guide that is also available on the Aldine ISD Support Documents website. Click Here to find out how to run this report!
What is Aldine TV?
Ever wonder where the videos for Professional Learning are? We have a large professional learning hub that we house videos from the Aldine Professional and Digital Learning Department. AldineTV.aldineisd.org is the hub for videos created for district training initiatives. Search through videos from the past to the present as we continue to add more and more resources to this repository.
Resetting Student Passwords
Remember, now that you are back on campus, you are able to reset your student's passwords, no middle-man needed!!
Student passwords need to be at least 8 characters in length, and should contain 3 of the 4 following criteria:
- Upper Case Letter
- Lower Case Letter
- Number
- Special Character (!@#$%^&*)
In addition to the password criteria, the password cannot have the student/user name or be similar to the previous password (which is not specified on the screen). This triggers the LDAP error. If you need a password reset refresher CLICK HERE. Video - CLICK HERE
