Home Literacy Reports K-5

In accordance with TCA 49-1-905, it is required that students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 who fall below the 16th percentile on iReady Inform should receive a copy of the MSCS Home Literacy Report Letter along with the iReady Inform Results Individual Report. It is recommended that any student who falls below the 24th percentile on iReady Inform receive the same information following the fall screener to provide a baseline for where the student is in August against peers.

Questions can be emailed to RTI2@scsk12.org.

iReady Inform Results

Students who completed the iReady Inform assessments during the fall universal screening window should be provided a copy of the results in the home communication folder that is sent home by schools. This allows families to see where their student is currently performing as well as where they need to aim for in the winter when completing the middle of year assessment.

iReady iReady

iReady Family Portal is available 24/7 to families and caregivers. Please use the available templates included in the iReady folder which provide information on how to access from home. This tool allows families to access their child's progress at home and they cannot see other student information. There are tips for how they can support learning at home.

  2. Need a refresher? Review the training videos available under the 🎓 icon in Reading Horizons Discovery.
  3. Verify your student rosters Compare the students listed in Reading Horizons with your students in TN PULSE. If the rosters do not match, email student first and last name along with student id number to RTI2@scsk12.org so corrections can be made.

Student Plans

Please create or reconstitute Tier 2/3 plans for students known to be continuing intervention from the spring 2026 list found in the On Target for Success SharePoint Master Template folder and for those who are newly identified following the fall universal screener. Reminder that the expectation is plans are updated monthly following the data team meeting, but no later than the last day of the month. This data is used to provide updates quarterly on our MSCS District Scorecard goals where 100% of students intervention plans will be implemented.

ILP-D

Please ensure that you have a school list (noted on the CSRS) of students who have active ILPD plans in TNPulse. Students who have a red stop sign on their plan will have to have that plan exited before any other actions related to ILPD supports can be taken. Please request MSCS Office Hours if you need assistance locating ILPD plans for your school or support in exiting ILPD plans.

Characteristics of Dyslexia Characteristics of Dyslexia

MTSS Leads should scan copies of the Universal Screening Decision Making Crosswalk for the students screened to their school folder. This can also be done on a spreadsheet as long as all information is able to be reviewed that is also entered on the individual student sheets.

DYS02 codes should be entered into PowerSchool with the start date being the date screened and the end date being the last day for students May 20, 2027. Once students are determined eligible the DYS03 code is entered in PowerSchool with the start date that the decision was made and the end date being the last day for students, May 20, 2027. There should only be one DYS02 and one DYS03 code at a time so do not stack codes.

For students deemed eligible, the MTSS Lead should create a record of decision using the ILPD tiles in TNPulse and TNPulse ILPD parent notification should be sent home along with the ILPD Family Information one pager. Parent response of yes, no, or no response must then be noted in TNPulse within 30 days of the initial notification. Note that this is a recent update (July 2026) to the ILPD entry process. More information is available in the TDOE Characteristics of Dyslexia folder if needed, but you can also request support via MSCS Office Hours Request Form.

Reminders Reminders
