Farewell to Mr. Jonathan
Mr. Jonathan will be leaving us at the beginning of July. We wish him well as he leaves the Extension Service after almost 14 years. He will be taking a position as a SPED inclusion co-teacher at South Jackson Elementary. If you see him at our summer camps and activities please wish him well and thank him for his service to Jackson County and 4-H.
Pollinator Ambassador
Congratulations to Chloe Hilley on becoming a 4-H Ambassador! Chloe attended ambassador training last week and will be working to learn about and educate the community on pollinators over the course of the next year!
Pollinator Ambassadors: What’s the buzz? One out of every three bites of food you eat exists because of animal pollinators. No pollinators…no food and snacks, yikes! But right now, pollinator populations are dropping fast due to habitat loss, chemical exposure, pests, disease, and a changing climate. Since humans rely on pollinators, it’s time to step up. Pollinator Ambassadors are youth leaders who learn the science, spread the word by teaching others, and take action to protect pollinators in their communities. From bees to butterflies, birds to bats, pollinators are cool, powerful, and essential.
