Mill Valley Weekly
Thursday, October 1st, 2026
Hello Mill Valley Families,
At the start of this school year, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit every classroom across our building to talk with our students about a value that is very close to my heart: INTEGRITY.
Our school definition of INTEGRITY is being respectful, responsible, and kind
even when we don't think an adult is watching.
My goal for our school community is to see integrity spread far and wide this year. True integrity starts from within—when each student makes the right choice simply because it is the right thing to do. When our kids see their peers, classmates, and friends making positive, honest choices, it inspires them to do the same. Kindness, respect and responsibility are wonderfully contagious!
To celebrate these choices, we introduced an exciting new way to recognize students this year: the Golden Integrity Award. This recognition has quickly become a highly sought-after honor for our students! So far this school year, about 50 students have been recognized for demonstrating outstanding integrity, and we cannot wait to honor many more in the months ahead.
Yesterday, we celebrated all of our golden integrity ticket recipients during our Golden Awards assembly. In addition, a smaller subset of these students was randomly selected (see picture below) to participate in a special leadership activity with me! Together, we will work on creative ways to continue our mission of spreading integrity throughout our entire school.
Thank you for your partnership at home in helping us reinforce these vital life lessons. When home and school work together, our students thrive!
In Partnership,
Allyce Harris

⚽ From Mr. Smith and Miss Yeazel in Phy Ed ⚽
We have been working on a lot of skills in Phy Ed. Kindergarten and 1st grade have been working hard at their spatial awareness skills. We've learned about our personal bubble space, how to move at different levels, and how to move safely at different speeds. We've played games such as Cookie-Dough Tag and even tried some partner challenges such as Tunnels & Travelers.
2nd, 3rd & 4th graders have also been working on their spatial awareness skills with tag games such as Stop Light Tag and Fish Taco Tag. We've also been working hard at some foot-eye coordination skills using soccer balls. We are learning how to dribble the ball under control and kick it accurately.
👻 Mill Valley Halloween Parade 🎃
Friday, October 30th
We are excited to continue our Halloween parade tradition this year! To make the parade easier for families to attend, our parade will take place outdoors around the Mill Valley blacktop area. This will allow families to enjoy the parade without needing to enter the building or check in through the office.
Families are invited to stand along the designated parade route outside the school to watch students and staff parade by in their costumes (SEE MAP BELOW). The parade will begin at 2:15pm starting with kindergarten. Students will exit the building with their classes follow the parade route and then return inside with their teachers.
Students going home early after the parade will follow the Halloween Dismissal Plan (see below).
🎃 Reminders about costumes:
No scary or violent costumes
No weapons
No make-up or colored hair
Bring your costume to change into right before the parade starts (do not wear costumes to school)
