🏃‍♂️️ Soda Creek Fun Run: 321 Miles and Counting!

Our PK–5th graders brought incredible energy to today’s Fun Run! Together, our school completed an incredible 2,566 laps—adding up to 321 total miles! Our youngest runners tackled loops around the parking lot, while older students ran out to Butcherknife and back.

A huge thank you to our Specials Team (PE, Art, Music, Spanish, and more) for organizing such a seamless event, and to our wonderful PIC and parent volunteers for helping turn the run into an exciting school fundraiser!

Because pledges were based on per-lap counts, our total funds raised are still being tallied. Stay tuned for the final grand total, and thank you for cheering on and supporting our runners!

Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) needs YOU! 👉 Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) needs YOU! 👉

PIC is powered by parent volunteers, and we’re still looking for volunteers to fill several chair roles and serve as homeroom representatives. These are flexible ways to get involved without committing to every PIC activity or monthly meeting.

Homeroom representatives help connect PIC with their child’s classroom by sharing updates, volunteer opportunities, and ways to support school events. This role does not require classroom volunteering or attending every PIC meeting.

If you are interested please sign up here PIC Chair Roles Need additional information so you can decide if it’s a good fit? Please email sceseadogspic@gmail.com.

📚 News from the Library 📚 📚 News from the Library 📚

Playaway and Wonderbook opt out form: We have an ever growing collection of audio books available to students at the SCE Library. Audio books are a wonderful option for readers of all levels. Some of the benefits include increased fluency, vocabulary development, access to higher level material, and excitement about reading. Students are allowed one Playaway or Wonderbook at a time. The downside of these items is that they can be expensive to replace if lost. Therefore, if you do not want your student to check out Wonderbooks or Playaways, please print and sign this opt out form, Formulario de exclusión de audiolibros and return it to Ms. Creamer at the SCE Library. If you opted your child out of these devices in a previous year, and would now like them to be able to check out audio books, please email Ms. Creamer: lcreamer@ssk12.org.

Libby, Overdrive and Hoopla: All students have access to ebooks and e-audiobooks through these online platforms. They can be accessed through our library catalog.

Book Fair: Our fall book fair will be held weekdays November 11 - November 17. More information, including volunteer signup, will be coming out in early October.

💅No Fake Nails- Please💅 💅No Fake Nails- Please💅

To help keep our classrooms focused on learning, we kindly ask that families save fake and press-on nails for weekends and school breaks.

While fun to wear, these items have become a major distraction for our younger students during writing, hands-on activities, and instructional time. Thank you for your partnership in keeping our learning environment engaged and distraction-free!

💵SCHOOLCASH ONLINE💵 💵SCHOOLCASH ONLINE💵

The Steamboat Springs School District uses SchoolCash Online for all school items and fees. Here at Soda Creek, we use SchoolCash to charge all damaged or lost tech and media fees, and even preschool tuition. By using SchoolCash, parents can manage all school fees and items for their students in one location, have the convenience of a secure online payment platform, and the schools improve safety and reduce risk by minimizing cash and check payments at our schools.

Registering for an account is easy and takes less than two minutes! Once you're registered, you will start receiving notifications about any fees your student has here at Soda Creek.

We need all parents to register now, so you'll be ready to make online payments from home. Your student may already have fees in their account. If you are not registered in SchoolCash, you might not be aware that your student has incurred fees. Please register as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. If you need further information on how to register with SchoolCash, click here, and you will be redirected to the district's SchoolCash information and instruction page.
