Note from the Director

Professionalism is something we are talking about a lot with students at the HACTC this year. We have a universal professionalism rubric that is being used across the center. The purpose of this professionalism rubric is to give students feedback, so that they can be successful in the workplace. I encourage you to check in with your child to learn about how they are doing with this. You’ll also see their professionalism grade for the quarter on their report card.

Women Can Do Women Can Do

On October 8, many HACTC students attended the Women Can Do Conference, a one-day trades and STEM career exploration event for high school girls and gender expansive students. 10 of our senior students exhibited at the event: they taught others how to start a chainsaw, use a circular saw, weld, use microbits, fill autobody dents, and more.

Other HACTC students were spectators in hands-on learning opportunities ranging from heavy equipment operation to intubation to 3D printing. They also got to talk to Vermont employers and learn about educational options.
