This month, we honor and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. It’s a wonderful time to recognize the diversity and achievements that make our world so vibrant. 💖🌍

🐛Whooo Are You?🐛 🐛Whooo Are You?🐛

We’re excited to kick off a new game in our Office Smore called “Whooo Are You?” This is a fun and interactive way for our school community to learn more about the amazing people who make up our team.

Here’s how it works:

  • Each round, we’ll share fun facts about staff members—like how many languages they speak, how many pets they have, or unique hobbies they enjoy.

  • Families will have the chance to guess “Whooo” the facts belong to.

  • In the next Smore, we’ll reveal the correct answers and start a new round of fun!

We hope this activity brings our families and staff closer together and creates new connections across our community. Keep an eye out for the first round in the next Smore!

Thank you for being part of the fun and helping us build a stronger school community!💖

⌛October Count 🏫 ⌛October Count 🏫

The official October Count Day is October 1st, so it is very important that students attend school on this day. Attendance helps determine the funding our school receives to support programs, staff, and resources for all students.

As a fun treat, students may come to school in pajamas on Wednesday, October 1st (slippers and stuffed animals are not allowed). Students should return to their regular uniforms on Thursday, October 2nd.

Thank you for supporting your child’s learning and our school community!

👪Family Surveys👂

We need your feedback! Between now and conferences, we will be asking you to complete four short surveys about our school. These are quick and easy ways to share your thoughts, and your feedback is very important in helping us see how we’re doing and what improvements families would like to see.

Our staff and students are also completing similar surveys so we can gather feedback from the whole school community.

Here are alll four surveys, thank you so much for taking the time to complete them!

As cooler fall weather approaches, we'd like to remind families about our school uniform policy:

  • Sweaters: Students must wear an all-black sweater with no designs or logos, unless it has our school logo. Middle school sweaters may be all black or gray, also without logos or designs.

    • Bottoms: Must be black, without logos or designs.

    • Shirts: Must be a black collared polo shirt. Students may also wear school-provided shirts (e.g., Monarch of the Month, Moana, etc.). Middle school students may also wear gray polo shirts.

    • Important: Students cannot wear plain all-black T-shirts.

  • 📢Parent Reminders ✅ 📢Parent Reminders ✅

    Technology Discount:

To receive the $20.00 discount toward your technology fee, payment must be made by October 1st.

    Chromebook Protection Plan:

To receive the Chromebook Protection Plan, payment must also be completed by October 1st.

    Student Tardiness:

If students arrive after 8:15 AM, an adult must sign them in at the office. This procedure is in place to ensure the safety of all students.

    Zuni St.:

Please do not park on the corner of Sherrelwood and Zuni St. It holds back the bus driver from getting into the bus lane and it is very close to the cross walk. If you park on the west side of Zuni St, please walk your student to the crosswalk. Our amazing Ms. Veronica will safely walk your student across the street.

    Sherrelwood Dr.:

Please pull to the sides to drop off your students. The students must walk to the crosswalk. Our wonderful Ms. Kyah will safely help your students cross the street.

Please do not block our neighbors driveways.

    Bus Lane:

Parents, please do not park/drop off/pick up students inside the bus lane.

    Parking Lot:

Please do not park behind parked cars in the parking lot. In case of an emergency, we must have clear access. This will also clear the parking lot for parents that are coming into the parking lot. As a courtesy, please do not lean on parked cars.

Thank you for helping us keep our students and neighbors happy and safe!

    💻Metropolitan Arts Academy's Fees📗 💻Metropolitan Arts Academy's Fees📗

All families with students attending The Metropolitan Arts Academy are expected to pay the annual Student Fees. Your support with this process is very important, as these fees help fund our school and directly benefit all students during the current school year.

    Payments can be made:

    • In person or by phone: Tuesday–Thursday, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM

    • Online: Anytime through the Parent Portal

Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.
