Weekly Words with Wakefield
As an educator, I love this time of year! Though the end of the year can be a touch chaotic with students getting a little bonkers and a tiny bit lazy. The rush of getting everything done in time along with participating in all of the year end activities. It also doesn’t help that the weather cannot decide on the season it would like to be for the day. Well let me tell you why I enjoy this time in Week 53 of Words With Wakefield.
As a school administrator, I believe that, “Who you are becoming is more important than who you have been!” Working in schools, we get students from all walks of life, and it is my goal to give a space for all students to achieve success and grow as a person. Students are all running this race, called school, from different starting lines. In the end our mission for them is to cross the same finish line “graduation." Students are faced with many different obstacles that as adults we might not understand and sometimes we may judge them for it. We need to hold onto the mindset that each day we can make little improvements that will get us and the students closer to that finish line. This year I have witnessed students accomplish so many great things and show a tremendous amount of growth. That's why I love this time of year!
It is not how you cross the finish line or how long it takes you, it is the person you are developing into because of it! Just like this flower arrangement, it started as an empty vase, but the floricultural team made it become something beautiful!
