Mrs. Duckworth's Notes
Week of April 6th, 2026
Hello Northglade Families,
I hope you were able to spend this past week with family and friends. It was good to slow down for a few, but now it's time to get back to business.
This week, school will resume tomorrow, Monday, April 6 at 8:50 to 3:50. Remember, we open the doors for breakfast at 8:30. Please make sure students have had a good night's sleep tonight and are on time and ready to learn.
I hope you and your family are enjoying your Easter Sunday. Below are a list of events that will take place this week.
Think! Energy through Consumers Energy
Thank you Mrs. Somers for all that you do for our school, staff and students!
You ROCK!!
Friendly Reminder
Please continue to send in large paper bags, with the handles. These bags will be used to send students' beautiful artwork home. She is also in need of a few volunteers to help mount the artwork to a colored piece of paper, to then be displayed. Please reach out to Mrs. Brege if you are interested in assisting.

Upcoming M-STEP Reminder Graders 3-5
The Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress (M-STEP) is a computer-based summative assessment administered annually in Michigan to students in grades 3-8 and 11. It measures student proficiency in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies based on state standards to determine career and college readiness.
The testing will continue until all students have completed all parts of the test. It normally takes 4 to 5 weeks.
Testing will begin on Tuesday, April 14. Please make sure students have had a good nights sleep throughout the testing window.
🚫 Prohibited Materials: While testing is in progress, the following items must be put away and remain inaccessible to students:
Cell phones
Smart watches
Textbooks, binders, and folders
Work packets
Personal items
Unpredictable Michigan Weather
Please remember that we do live in Michigan and we know that the weather can change in the middle of the day. Please make sure that you are sending students in with an extra pair of outdoor shoes to change into while playing at recess. This will help keep the classroom carpets free from mud and dirt. Students are allowed to wear slippers in class as well.
