I am completing individual counseling lessons at all four school sites. In these lessons we work on self-advocating, self-regulation, self-awareness, and health/appropriate coping skills.
I have small counseling group lessons at the Elementary and Intermediate School. We work on social skills, impulse control, emotional regulation, and coping skills. If you would like your student included, please complete the small group consent under counseling forms in this newsletter.
I am completing whole class counseling lessons at the Junior High. Our sixth lesson is on Stress Management.

Ask the Counselor!
How do I help my child manage stress?
Stress is a feeling of mental tension, or overwhelming feelings. It comes from pressure we put on ourselves or pressure from other important people in our life. A major key in managing stress is learning what one can control and what one cannot control in any given situation. Focus on what you can control. Many times the only thing we can control is our own actions, reactions, and thoughts. Training our thoughts to see the positive, celebrating small wins, and allowing yourself to take breaks are a a few great ways to manage stress levels.
Here are a few short videos from Ted Talks about how stress affects us.
Sleep helps us control our emotions!
