As we embark on a long, restful weekend, I would like to take the time to thank our Frontline Workers who have been with us since the Covid-19 Pandemic began. Our custodial staff has continued with their hard work of ensuring schools are kept to the highest standards awaiting the return of our staff and students. Our custodial staff is made up of 17 members and their cumulative years of service is over 211! They perform countless jobs that are asked of them and always have a smile on their face. This group sees the schools they work in as their home and the staff as extended family and are always happy to help. They work days and nights to complete tasks that cannot be done while staff or students are in the building. We simply could not operate without them.
Additionally, the collaboration between our food service staff and our transportation team has been outstanding. Since March, the food service team has been present and able to distribute meals to children ages 0-18 curbside at Fairfield School. During the pandemic and even now, our transportation team assists with loading, preparing, and delivering meals to families in Saco. These two groups have put in countless hours and always show up with a smile to meet our families' curbside. Transportation staff have also been practicing bus runs and ensuring safe bus procedures for the start of the school year. Another group that we could not function without.
These TEAMS provide our district with an overwhelming amount of care and compassion. I ask everyone in our community to take the time to thank these individuals for their hard work and commitment to our school community. Please applaud them publicly or privately as they embrace welcoming back our Saco School Students and Staff!
Warm Regards,
Superintendent DePatsy
