Bus Information/Parking
Bus Stop Locator: Students/families may find their bus pickup/drop-off times by logging in to HCPSS Connect Synergy, select More Options and then Homeroom / Transportation / POS to determine bus times. This information also can be found in the HCPSS online bus locator.
Bus routes and schedules are subject to change as routes are designed and/or revised. The location and times listed online include the most up to date information.
Car Riders: Students who are driven to school are to be dropped off at our car loop. Cars are not permitted in the bus loop or staff lot in the morning. Please follow the traffic flow map when dropping off students at school. It is advisable to allow ample time to arrive at school because traffic is regularly an issue. For safety reasons, please do not make U-turns or drop students off on Route 99. Please drive slowly and keep a careful watch for staff and students.
Student Drivers: All student drivers who have a parking permit will be assigned a parking spot and will park in the assigned spot following the Student Parking Lot Map.
Route 99 Construction
Construction along Route 99 may cause delays and increased travel times. Please plan accordingly and allow extra time for your commute to help ensure you arrive at school on time.
Student Schedule Updates
Students are able to view their full schedule in Synergy with periods, teachers and rooms. Beginning August 24th we will follow the Schedule Change Process. During the first week of school the only schedule changes that will be processed are students with holes in their schedule, seniors adding a graduation requirement, Student Aides and Jumpstart/Release Time requests. Elective course changes will not be processed beginning August 24th when we return to school.
HCPSS Student Personal Device Use in Schools
HCPSS Student Personal Device Use in Schools:
- Students will keep personal technology devices away (in a spot designated by their teacher) and silenced and ensure they are not a distraction during the student day.
- Smart watches may be worn during the student day but may not distract instruction or be used for reasons other than checking the time.
- A staff member on a school-sponsored field trip may permit the use of a personal technology device by a student in limited situations where capturing a picture or video may be appropriate or contacting a parent/guardian is necessary.
- School administrators and school administrators’ designees may authorize use of a personal device in rare instances such as an emergency for communication purposes, and when allowed as described in a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), Section 504 Plan, or Health Plan.
- Personal laptops may be used for instructional activities in high school.
Please refer to HCPSS policy for policy violations.
Chromebooks
Personal devices can only connect to the HCPSS Guest network. There is no guarantee that the device can connect or will stay connected to this network. HCPSS would prefer that you use your HCPSS-issued Chromebook instead. Your assigned device will be required for all technology-based quizzes, tests, state assessments, and PSATs/SATs.
If you have not used your Chromebook all summer, try to let it charge. If it does not turn on the first time, you can hold down the rounded arrow key (reset key) above the numbers 3-5 (depending on your model) and the power button at the same time until the light comes on. You may need to have it plugged in and charging in order for this reset to work. The device may not have recognized that it was charging until you have performed this reset.
Any questions? Come by the library media center the first week of school!
Update Your Information Today!
HCPSS utilizes Family File for families to complete emergency information. Parents/guardians must verify and/or update information for each child each school year.
Each year in August, parents/guardians can access and complete Family File by logging in to HCPSS Connect, selecting the Online Registration at the top right of the page and then selecting Family File Verification.
Once logged in, parents/guardians will be asked to update or provide the following: family information; parent/guardian contact; emergency contact(s); and student information, including health information, PTA/PTSA directory inclusion, release of information, science agreement, and arrival/dismissal procedures.
School Meals
Please visit the Food Services for the most up to date information regarding school lunches. https://www.hcpss.org/food-services/#linq.
