Champions for Children Update
We are getting close! Bellerive families have now raised $6,156 toward our $7,000 Champions for Children goal. Because we reached our second milestone, students will enjoy a video on the big screen in the cafeteria during lunch this week!
Champions for Children is the Bellerive PTO’s annual fundraiser supporting experiences for all students, including author visits, student clubs, Field Day, field trip transportation, school picnics, and much more.
So far, 21% of Bellerive families have donated, and we would love to reach 50% participation this year. If giving is right for your family, please consider making a gift of any amount. Every gift helps us move closer to our final milestone and the big reward: a Student Choice Day in PE! We hope to reach our goal before Fall Break next Friday.
You may donate through the Bellerive PTO’s Venmo or PayPal accounts or send a check to school with your student.
Thank you for supporting Bellerive!

THIS WEEK
Before-School Clubs Begin on Monday
Club assignments were sent home earlier this month.
The notification papers included the name and date of the club(s) your child will be participating in.
Reminders:
- Please DO NOT drop off students before 7:55 am as coverage is not available.
- Students will be expected to follow all Bellerive behavior expectations to remain in before-school clubs.
- Attendance is important. Because many students wish to participate, if your child misses more than three sessions, we may need to offer their spot to another student.
- No clubs will be held the week of November 16 due to conferences.
- The last week of clubs will be February 22, 2027.
If you have any questions about clubs, please email Ashley Jelovic at ajelovic2@parkwayschools.net.
Unity Day: Celebrate Kindness, Acceptance, Inclusion, and Belonging
Wear Orange on Wednesday
Bellerive will join schools across Parkway and SSD in celebrating Unity Day on Wednesday, October 21. Unity Day reminds us that small actions can help every student and staff member feel welcomed, valued, and included. Wear orange to show your support for kindness, acceptance, inclusion, and belonging.
Track or Treat on Wednesday
Bellerive Celebrations Combined with North High's Track or Treat
Bellerive families are encouraged to attend Parkway North High School's Track or Treat on Wednesday, October 21, and all the details are in the flyer above.
In place of holding a costume parade at Bellerive and rather than encouraging students to wear costumes to school this year, we hope families interested in celebrating Halloween will join us at this fun North area community event. Dr. Kneer and Dr. Butler have their costumes ready to wear to Track or Treat!
Students will enjoy a fall party assembly at school on the afternoon of Friday, October 30. The World Bird Sanctuary will bring live birds to Bellerive for All About Owls, a fun and entertaining presentation that gives students an up-close look at these amazing animals. This experience is made possible through the support of our PTO. Thank you, PTO!
Last Week to Sign Up for Dental Services
The dentist is coming to our school on Wednesday, October 28! The School Smiles on-site dental program provides comprehensive on-site dental care at our school for students who sign up to participate and are eligible to be seen. The dental team will set up inside our school to see students for dental cleanings. They accept Medicaid and private insurance and offer self-pay rates and grants through their foundation. Registration is now open online at https://schoolsmiles.com/student-signup/ with over 100 languages to choose from when completing the online form.

Parkway's 415-SAFE Tip Line
Keeping our schools safe is a shared responsibility. Students, families, and community members can confidentially report safety or security concerns through Parkway’s online Safety Tip Line or by calling 314-415-SAFE (7233).
Both options are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The phone line goes directly to voicemail, and reports are reviewed by Parkway’s security department. For an emergency requiring immediate assistance, always call 911.
Library Resource Shared by Mrs. Zahnweh:
Literacy Leap is a new online learning tool available through the St. Louis County Library that makes it easy to work directly with your child on phonics and reading skills. No teaching experience is required. Guide your child through personalized 20-minute lessons, with built-in videos and teaching scripts to help you support your child's learning. This learning tool is recommended for ages kindergarten through fourth grade. Learn how to use Literacy Leap at this upcoming virtual workshop on Wednesday, October 28 at 6:30 pm.
Conference Sign-Ups Coming Soon
Student-led conferences are the week of November 16, and conference night is Thursday, November 19. The online sign-up link will be published in next week's Bellerive Bulletin.
