Corbett High School Alum Opens First Chick-fil-A in Wood Village

Wood Village will welcomed its first Chick-fil-A restaurant Thursday, Nov. 20, and at the center of the opening is a familiar face to many in the Corbett community: Jordan Jefferis, Corbett High School Class of 2017, who has been selected as the local Owner-Operator of the new Chick-fil-A Wood Village Blvd. For Jefferis, opening the Wood Village location is more than a business milestone—it’s a homecoming.

“It is truly a dream come true to open the first Chick-fil-A in Wood Village, a place I’ve proudly called home my entire life,” said Jefferis. “From growing up in nearby Gresham to attending Corbett High School, this community has always held my heart.”

Jefferis’s connection to the community began long before Chick-fil-A. After graduating from Corbett High in 2017, he joined Chick-fil-A as a Team Member in 2020. He later earned a Remarkable Futures scholarship to pursue his master’s degree and worked his way through multiple leadership roles before being selected as an Owner-Operator. Outside the restaurant, he is active in the Boy Scouts of America leadership training team, where he mentors emerging leaders.

The company is also marking the occasion with a $25,000 donation to Feeding America, which will support hunger-relief efforts through partners across the greater Portland area.

With Corbett roots and a passion for service, Jefferis says he is committed to ensuring the restaurant becomes a positive force in Wood Village.

“As the local Owner-Operator of Wood Village Blvd., I am committed to making a meaningful impact by ensuring that our core values aren’t just words on a wall but reflected in everything we do each day,” he said.

HS Track and Field Preseason Workouts

The High School Track and Field season won’t officially start until March 2nd, 2026, but preseason workouts will begin in December. Join us on Mondays and Thursdays from 4:00-5:00 to get in shape for Track and Field. All abilities and experience are welcome. We’ll meet in the weight room in the gym. See you there.

HS Swim Team

The Corbett swim team is ramping up practices towards our first swim meets. We have a good mix of new swimmers, state-qualifying swimmers and everything in between. We will attend two meets in December. Both meets will be hosted at the Molalla Aquatic Center on 12/5 and 12/19 at 4PM.

Sandy River Slam

Attention students! The 2025 Sandy River Slam is coming soon — a steelhead fishing tournament open to all full-time students in grades 9–12 from local high schools.

The event runs in four one-week legs from December through March, with $100 prizes for each leg and a $500 grand prize for the overall winner.
