Student Morning Drop Off:
Student drop off will begin at 8:40 am each morning. We are asking that all students stay in their vehicle until you drive up to the designated drop- off/crosswalk area at the side entrance and a staff member releases them. If you are dropping your child off at school in the morning, it will start promptly at 8:40 am. For the safety of your child, students should not exit your vehicle until instructed to do so by a staff member.
Procedures:
Please enter Driveway βDβ and proceed to the Playground Visitor Parking Lot. You will be directed where to line-up in the Visitorβs Parking Lot by our Buildings and Grounds Staff. When you enter the Drop-off Area, students should exit the vehicle on the passenger side and they will be greeted/directed by a faculty/staff member. Parents should NOT exit the vehicle. We ask parents to continue forward pulling back into the Fricano sidelot where you will exit Driveway βAβ. Please adhere to the 5 mph speed limit and be courteous of other drivers. If you arrive after the buses have departed, or after 8:54 am, you may pull into the bus loop and walk your child into the main door through the crayons.
Please note: NO personal vehicles are allowed in the bus loop during time the buses are parked for arrival and dismissal. Thank you for helping to keep all of our students safe!
***Parents will not be permitted to park and walk their child/children up to the building. Please stay in your vehicle and follow the drop off route as indicated on the map below.
Early Dismissal
Any and all early pick-up requests must be put into the Pick-Up Patrol by 11:00am. Any student needing to be picked up for an appointment/early dismissal must be picked-up by or before 2:30pm. This will allow us to release all regular pick up students starting at 3:10pm and utilize all staff to safely ensure this process is followed safely. If you must pick up your child before 2:30pm, this will take place in the Fricano Primary vestibule at the main entrance with proper I.D. There will be no pick-ups in the office between 2:30pm- 3:20pm, so please plan accordingly! If there is an emergency and a pick up is needed, please call the office.
PLEASE READ: Parent Pick Up
Please enter Driveway βDβ and proceed to the Fricano playground visitor parking lot. Due to safety concerns, we ask that you do not enter our pick up line before 2:45 pm. You will be directed where to line-up in the visitorβs parking lot by our Buildings and Grounds Staff. Please come to a complete stop and wait until directed to proceed. Staff members will register your vehicle into the Parent Pick-Up Patrol (PUP) program by identifying the last name from the window sign in the driverβs side window or the rear view mirror of your vehicle. Continue driving slowly until you get to the side parking lot of the school. Students should enter the vehicle on the passenger side. If you have students in BOTH Fricano and RIS, please get into the Fricano pick up line FIRST (between 3:10-3:25pm). After picking up your Fricano student, you will need to leave and enter the RIS pick up line. RIS pick up will run from 3:15 pm-3:30 pm.
Please Note: We will have a police presence at Pick Up who will monitor the speed of cars and make sure nobody is driving distracted (including but not limited to using their cell phones while driving). If you are reckless in your driving (ie: speeding, not adhering to traffic rules) it is possible to lose pick up privileges, as the safety of our students, staff, parents and community is a top priority for the Starpoint Central School District. Thank you for helping us make our pick up as safe as possible.
