Panther Press of Wild Rose
December 5, 2025
It was a busy week here at Wild Rose! Our students worked hard to show what they know on their i-Ready assessments. We also had a great turnout at our winter shop last night. A huge thank you goes out Brandi Norum, Amanda Herman, the PTO, volunteers, Kindness Club, and Student Council for all of your hard work to make winter shop a fun experience for our students and families. Please see a few photos from the event below. More photos from the event will be shared soon!

Kindness Club
Our Wild Rose Kindness Club (composed of fifth graders) has made an entry in the 2nd annual Community Gingerbread House Contest & Display, celebrating creativity and holiday spirit. The event takes place on Saturday, December 6th, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Baker Community Center in St. Charles, with free admission. We'd love to have your support (and vote) if you are able to stop by and support their creation! While there you can enjoy holiday treats, music, and vote for your favorite gingerbread creation (by the Kindness Club) during the viewing.
Santa will even make an appearance around noon.
We appreciate it if you are able to support us and hope that you have a wonderful start to December weekend!
i-Ready Winter Diagnostic
The second i-Ready diagnostic assessment is scheduled to be taken between December 1st and December 12th. This is a mid-year check on how students are progressing towards their growth goal. Chromebook Reset & Digital Citizenship for Wild Rose Students
Over the next few weeks, students at Wild Rose Elementary will take part in lessons about Digital Citizenship and responsible Chromebook use. These lessons will conclude with a “Chromebook Reset,” where students will remove personal stickers, clean their devices, and receive a school-branded name sticker.
Our goal is to remind students that their Chromebooks are learning tools and should be used responsibly both at school and at home. Thank you for supporting our efforts to help students use technology safely, respectfully, and with purpose.

ATTENDANCE POLICY UPDATES
D303 Attendance Procedures Update
District 303 attendance procedures were updated and approved at the June 9, 2025, Board Meeting. All district procedures are available in the CUSD 303 Student Handbook found in the Parent/Community tab in the Information column of the districtd303.org website.
Updates to the attendance procedures were made to bring consistency across all schools within the district and to clarify student attendance expectations. One example of an update is the removal of the pre-arranged absence procedure. This aligns with the definitions of excused and unexcused absences found in Section 2.2.
NEW VACATION POLICY:
The pre-arranged absence form and procedure are no longer in use
Vacations during school days are discouraged and will be considered unexcused absences
This change aligns with our commitment to maximizing instructional time for all students
We recognize that families sometimes need flexibility for travel or special circumstances. While we strongly encourage scheduling family trips during school breaks and holidays, we understand that this isn't always possible. We ask for your partnership in minimizing absences during the school year whenever feasible.
Families are encouraged to review the CUSD 303 Student Handbook to familiarize themselves with the districtwide procedures.
