Character Education Word of the Week: Tolerance
This week, our character education focus is Tolerance. Tolerance means showing respect, patience, and understanding toward others, even when their opinions, experiences, or perspectives are different from our own. At Bass Middle School, we want our students to understand that we don't have to agree with everyone to treat them with kindness and dignity. When Bulldogs listen to others, handle disagreements respectfully, and stand up against unkind behavior, they help create a safe and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued. These everyday actions demonstrate true leadership and reflect our commitment to being Brave, Optimistic, Leaders, and Determined as we continue Building Outstanding Leaders Daily.
Helping Our Bulldogs Navigate the Digital World
Technology is an important part of how our Bulldogs learn, communicate, and connect with others. While the digital world offers endless opportunities, it also challenges students to develop essential skills such as critical thinking, empathy, responsible decision-making, and meaningful face-to-face communication.
As we celebrate Media Literacy Week, we encourage our Bulldog families to join us in helping students build healthy digital habits. Whether it's discussing what they see online, recognizing misinformation, balancing screen time, or practicing kindness on social media, small conversations at home can make a BIG difference! Together, we can empower our Bulldogs to be Respectful, Responsible, and Resilient digital citizens who are prepared to navigate an ever-changing world.
Strong Digital Habits Start with Strong Partnerships! We hope you will make plans to join us on Tuesday, October 27th at 5:00 PM in the cafeteria as Special Agent Cassidy Tarpley from the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit leads an information session on Internet Safety that you don’t want to miss! Please RSVP on the Google Form.

BTG 2026 Christmas in Coweta Program
This program is centered around helping Coweta County families, due to circumstances, provide Christmas gifts to their children 18 and younger. Families can apply starting 10/1/2026.
Backpack Buddies
Backpack Buddies is a non-profit organization that provides a little extra food on the weekend for students in Coweta County. Backpack Buddies supplies students with nutritious, self-serve food that will sustain them when school meals are not available. Four times a year, when students are out for longer school breaks, Backpack Buddies sends home a larger bag of food to help them during that extended break from school.
The Backpack Buddies program is essential to help relieve hunger, which in turn will improve grades, health, school attendance and self-esteem in these children. If you are interested in signing your student up for the Backpack Buddies program, fill out the attached form and sign giving Backpack Buddies permission to send food home every Friday with your student.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
From September 15–October 15, Blake Bass will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by recognizing the rich cultures, histories, achievements, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. Students will have the opportunity to learn more through special activities and our weekly Hispanic Heritage Month Google Slides.
Students can also participate in an optional weekly quiz for a chance to earn a special lunch perk! Students who answer the quiz correctly will be entered into a drawing for the opportunity to sit at the high-top tables with their friends during lunch. We look forward to a month of learning, celebrating, and having fun together!

Counseling Department Wishlist
Our counseling team is always looking for ways to better support our students! We’ve created an Amazon Wishlist with items for our Hygiene Station, Small Groups, and Incentives. If you’d like to support, we’d be so grateful! Every item makes a difference.
Thank you so much for your continued support- it means the world to us and to our students.

Cell Phones/Electronic Devices
Cell Phones/Electronic Devices
Cell phones and smart watches may not be used during the instructional day and must be on silent and put away in student's backpacks at all times. Backpacks will be placed in lockers each morning until the end of the day. Students are permitted to use the designated student phone located in the office during school hours for emergencies or for illness. Students should not use a cell phone or smartwatch to call home or text when sick. Any student who is ill should go through the Bass clinic. The school nurse will call parents directly. Calling home for homework, a school project, or to make arrangements to attend an after school event that wasn't previously arranged is not permitted.
We appreciate your support of this policy so we can minimize interruptions to learning and ensure that all students feel safe and free of distractions.

Readers must have logged all 10 books in Beanstack when they come to the Learning Commons. Also, students and staff must check in at all reading checkpoints during the year to be eligible for our End of Year Recognition.
