Academy Avenue Elementary School

Dear Academy Families and Friends,

The first few days are always the toughest to get a new school year going...but not this year. This year, it seemed like we were full speed ahead right from the start! Here are some great things to know that are happening at Academy:

• Routines and connections were seamless. It looked like the students and staff picked it up right where were left off. The Kinders looked great in their different colored spirit days.
• The lunch program is gaining momentum-kids have been getting stronger by the day with their 5-1-0 numbers.
• Buses and cars have been on time and doing great while accessing the campus, especially for arrival and dismissal.
• The fall assessments have begun. This data is very important as we use it to build our groups and plan our MTSS supports and instructional groupings.
• On Friday, students throughout the school made cards for our first responders to give thanks and appreciation for the National Day of Service and Remembrance. We remembered the day while a special address/moment of reflection and wanted to honor those members of our community who keep our town and country safe.
• We also successfully completed out first fire drill of the school year with the help from our friends at the Weymouth Fire Department.

SEPAC Kick-Off Meeting!

Join us as we kick off a new school year with your SEPAC board! We’ll introduce our board members, hear updates from the Student Services Director, and—most importantly—give families an opportunity to share their input, ideas, and priorities for programming this school year.

Our first Grandparents Raising Grandchildren group of the year. Our first group will meet on Friday, 9/18 from 11am-12pm

Every student has a local ID # or LASID. To order lunch this year, the kids have been working hard and remembering their codes and pin pads. Great job kiddos. Students could earn praise paws if they knew it on the spot (see below)
