Happy Earth Day this week...
“In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.”
—John Muir
Wednesday was Earth Day...since you're off today enjoy nature...take care of the environment around you as it provides many things for us. Have you ever noticed when you go on a hike, walk, the beach, the woods, the hilltops, lakes, or wherever in nature, that you leave with more than you went with? I am talking mentally and emotionally! Nature can replenish our souls. It can give us insight into things we've been pondering. It helps ground us when we are anxious or nervous. Nature is freeing and empowering all at the same time. Next time you take a walk even if it's around the block, stop and close your eyes and smell the different smells, open your eyes and see all the different colors and shapes, and think to yourself, "Wow! We live in an amazing place!" Earth is like no other, let's enjoy all that it has to offer and then give back to it by taking care of it.
Still 16 graduates are left for FAFSA. This needs to be submitted for graduating students as soon as possible or you can fill out an opt out form which are in the office. There are Cash 4 College nights held virtually and in person all over the county if you need assistance. This is the only way you will get any type of financial aid in college and this is the only way you will get to go to the JC for free. Please fill it out as soon as possible, so you can find out how much money you will earn and if you get the Cal Grant or other scholarships.
There is a Google Classroom with resources and announcements...ask your students if they have joined yet.
My newsletters are to inform parents mostly, but there will also be information for students. Some information carries over each week, but always look for the new stuff.
I am very easy to get ahold of and respond pretty quickly. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, clarification, or concerns.
See below for friendly reminders: Important Dates, Mental Health Tips/Resources, SRJC information, Scholarship opportunities, and volunteer opportunities.

What do you appreciate right now? These can be little things, like having more time to watch a favorite TV show or enjoying the fresh air while on a walk. Taking time to reflect on what is going well can help shift your mood and your feelings may follow. Mindfulness activities encourage healthy reflection.
