Meet the Teacher Night at Cockrell: Aug 7th!
Meet the Teacher Night: August 7th!
- Meet the Teacher is Friday, August 7th from 5:00 - 6:30 PM. *If your child is served in a Communications or Active Learning Classroom, our Meet the Teacher is 4:00-4:45 that evening.
This is a come-and-go event where your student can meet their teachers.
Your child's teacher will also be seeking important information from you about how your child will go home on the first day of school and each day after.
If you need to share information about your child or have further questions, please email their teacher and schedule a time to meet.
Because our teachers will be working all day on Friday, August 7th, we will end Meet the Teacher promptly at 6:30 PM so they can get home to their families.
The First Day of School: Tuesday, August 11th
Tuesday, August 11th is the 1st Day of School for the 26/27 School Year! On this day, parents may park and walk children to classrooms inside of the building. This is the only day that parents may walk into the building and to the classrooms with our students. Beginning August 12th, students will walk themselves to class with the help of all of the adults positioned inside and outside of our building.
As always, please park in a parking spot in the front or side parking lots. Do not park in the arrival lines in the front and back of the school.
If choosing to walk your child to class, parents will need to drop off at the classroom quickly and then exit the building no later than 7:45 am.

Prospering Promise Partners
We’re looking for caring, committed adults to serve as mentors to Prosper ISD students. You don’t need to be a counselor or expert—just someone willing to listen, encourage, and show up consistently. Mentors meet with students on campus during the school day in a structured, supportive environment.

Volunteer mentors will:
Meet with students monthly, during the school day, for 30 minutes
Build positive relationships rooted in trust and respect
Serve as role models and champions for student success
Help students develop confidence, character, and connection
