Waikīkī Elementary School's Strive HI Performance Report
Waikīkī Elementary School has once again demonstrated exceptional performance on the most recent Strive HI report, with impressive gains in both Language Arts and Math proficiency. These results are a testament to the steadfast hard work and collective belief in the school's mindful culture from the entire school community—our students, faculty, staff, and families.
In Language Arts, Waikīkī students achieved a 79% proficiency rate, a notable increase from 77% in the previous school year. This achievement stands out when compared to the statewide average of 53%, showcasing our students' strong grasp of reading and writing skills. Waikīkī's Language Arts score ranks in the top 4% of all public elementary schools in Hawaii.
Our students also excelled in Math, with an outstanding 84% proficiency level, a significant leap from 74% last year. This remarkable performance is more than double the statewide math proficiency average of 41%. Waikīkī's Math score ranks in the top 2% of all public elementary schools in Hawaii.
A particularly proud highlight of this report is the performance of our high-needs students, which include English learners, special education and economically disadvantaged students. This group achieved a 63% proficiency level in Language Arts and a 71% proficiency level in Math. These numbers not only represent a significant accomplishment for these students but also highlight how their performance outpaces the overall statewide proficiency rates for all students in both subjects.
These fantastic results reflect the positive impact of our school's mindful culture and are a cause for celebration for everyone involved. Congratulations to the entire Waikīkī School community for your dedication and commitment to academic excellence.
