To introduce their peers to life as a Raider, “Raider Navigators” recently facilitated a Freshman Seminar at Wylie East High School.

Freshman Seminar is a seven-day freshman orientation class attended by all ninth-grade students to learn important information about being in high school.

“It gives ninth-grade students really valuable information to help them better understand high school and helps them to make better decisions,” Jessica Taylor, ninth-grade and CTE counselor said.

You can learn more about this opportunity for our freshmen Raiders in the full story on our website.

Have you ever dreamt of mastering a string instrument like the violin, viola, cello, or bass? Your opportunity has arrived!

No prior musical experience is necessary as this is a beginner's course.

Classes are scheduled for every Tuesday from 6-7 p.m., commencing on Sept. 10. We recommend renting an instrument from Dallas Strings and advise against purchasing an instrument in case you are unable to continue with the classes. School cellos and basses will be provided during lessons, but you will require an instrument at home for practice.

There is a $35 registration fee for the year, which includes a Parent Orchestra shirt for performances. Additionally, you will need to buy the method book used in class for $15. Please register for the class using the link below so we can make the necessary arrangements.

We eagerly anticipate your presence on Sept. 10!
