September 2026

Welcome back to a new school year! I hope our families enjoyed a wonderful summer filled with new adventures, and plenty of opportunities to recharge, rest, connect, and make memories. It is exciting to see our hallways and classrooms coming to life again, and we are looking forward to another great year at Ste. Marie School.

A special welcome goes out to our new families joining the Ste. Marie community. We are also excited to welcome Mrs. Stokes as our new Indigenous Liaison and to welcome Mrs. Macdaid back to Kindergarten. We are grateful for the experience, care, and enthusiasm that each member of our staff brings to our school.

Our 2026–2027 Faith Theme is Inspire – God is Near. This theme encourages us to slow down and recognize God's presence in the everyday moments of school life. Throughout the year, we will explore a simple rhythm: Breathe, Listen, Respond. We hope this will help our students and staff grow in prayer, awareness, spiritual wellness, and in recognizing the many ways God is present in our lives.

As always, our goal is to support the whole child through the eyes of God. We look forward to a year filled with academic excellence, faith, community involvement, wellness, athletics, and MicroSociety, where learning truly comes to life. Our September calendar is already filling with opportunities for students to learn, participate, build relationships, and experience learning both inside and outside the classroom.

Please join us for our Welcome Back Mass on September 28 at 9:00 a.m. at Ste. Marie Church. It will be a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together and begin our year in faith.

We also look forward to seeing families at Meet the Teacher on September 2 between 4 and 5pm. Whether you are meeting your child's teacher for the first time or returning to a familiar face, please stop in, say hello, bring your children, and drop off school supplies. Taking care of those details ahead of time can help make the first morning a little less hectic and give everyone a chance to simply enjoy the excitement of a new school year.

There is something special about September. It is a fresh start, a new beginning, and a year full of possibilities. Thank you for entrusting your children to us. We are excited and grateful to begin this journey together and look forward to all that 2026–2027 will bring.

Blessings,

Mrs. Carla Knezevich
Principal
