This week, our campus will be abuzz with activity, as our Library is open for the Fall Book Fair, and our JLA Student Council is planning activities for Hispanic Heritage Month. Teachers are preparing for Back-to-School Night, and we will hold our first School Site Council meeting of the year on Tuesday after school at 3:00 pm.

Back-to-School Night: We look forward to seeing you this Thursday from 5:30 to 7:00. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's teachers, learn about their classes, and connect with other parents. Please note that Thursday is a minimum day schedule for students, with dismissal at 1:10.

If you have not completed your Annual Verification process yet, please do so this week. This information is critical to keep JLA updated on your contact information and supports critical programs, including afterschool clubs, field trips, WEB programs, student orientation, and staffing for Assistant Principal, CSA, and Rec. Aide positions at JLA.

We are also holding an all-school competition. If we reach 92% completion for Annual Verification by September 30th, students will have their first free dress day the following week. Please support the school and this free-dress opportunity by completing this critical task.

Reminder: Traffic is busy at the front entrance on Euclid after school. Please do not double-park or block the street during dismissal. This creates safety hazards for students as they leave campus. Consider picking up your child at the back of the school on Mira Mar instead.

We know there are times when you need to pick up your child early. You can do this before or after their scheduled lunch period. If your child is at lunch, we are not able to release them quickly from the lunch area. Picking up your child before or after lunch will help you leave JLA without delay.
