OPUS Reminders OPUS Reminders

Please keep these important items in mind when registering students in OPUS Event:

  • Use a student email address that can receive messages from OPUS Event. Students will receive important audition, scheduling, or event information directly through the system. Please verify that the address entered is correct and that messages from OPUS Event will not be blocked.
  • Double-check all student information before submitting the registration. This includes name, email address, ensemble, instrument/voice part, and other required information.
  • Registration creates a financial obligation. Once a student is registered, that student will appear on your program’s invoice.
  • There are no cancellations after registration. Removing a student from participation does not remove the registration fee from the invoice.

Advocacy Updates

Everyone is All-State Everyone is All-State

All-State is successful because so many people are willing to step in and help. When you receive a request to volunteer—especially as a presider or monitor—please consider saying yes.

In most cases, we are asking for just 50 minutes of your time to a session you will probably attend anyways. That small commitment makes a tremendous difference in keeping rehearsals, concerts, and other All-State activities running smoothly.

Everyone is All-State. Whether you are attending professional development, supporting students, or volunteering behind the scenes, we all share responsibility for making the experience successful.

When asked, please lend a hand. Fifty minutes of service helps create a great All-State experience for everyone.

Want to volunteer but haven't been asked! Email your district president or VP and volunteer yourself!

District Event Registrations District Event Registrations

Important Information from our District Event Manager:

For all event registrations that need forms to be closed, please follow this process:

1) If you are unsure if all schools intending to participate in your events are actually registered, send an email to Linnea at districtregistrations@nmmea.com and ask for a list of schools that are registered for the event. She will send you a list of all schools that are currently registered for that event. If you are unsure about anything, please don't ask for a form to be closed.

2) After you have verified that the list is correct, let her know that you are ready for her to close the form. It will be closed out usually by the end of that day.

It's important that VP's are communicating deadlines and necessary instructions to their directors/teachers about registering for events for consistency and timeliness.
