Cunha Intermediate School
Week of October 5th to October 9th
Cunha was full of black and orange today as our students showed their support for the Half Moon Bay High School football team. Led by our spirited administrative team (photo below), the campus energy was high all day long.
Even with an unexpected power outage, our students and staff stayed calm and flexible until the electricity returned after a couple of hours. Thank you to our teachers for keeping learning moving forward without missing a beat!
Highlights:
- First Dance Success: Last Friday's inaugural dance was a huge hit, giving students a safe, fun space to unwind with friends.
- Bravo, Drama Students: Shoutout to our talented drama crew and their fearless leader, Mrs. Angst, for performing their plays this week. Their hard work and stage presence truly shone.
- New Quarter Starts Monday: Today, October 9th, was the end of Quarter 1. Grades will be available at the end of next week.
- School Site Council (SSC): We have candidates nominated to serve on our School Site Council! Please take a moment to vote for your SSC representatives HERE. Voting closes on October 16th.
- IXL Benchmark Testing – October 15–16: It's benchmark time! This upcoming Thursday and Friday, students will take their IXL Benchmark assessments in Language Arts and Math. These assessments help us see how students are doing up to this point in the year. We're excited to see our Cubs show what they know!
- Parent-Teacher Conferences – Week of October 26: Parent-teacher conferences are coming up! More information about scheduling and details will be shared soon.
Cunha Athletics Boosters (CAB) Updates
Another busy week of Cunha Cub sports is in the books! Our athletes have been working hard at practices and matches, and we're proud of the effort and sportsmanship they bring every day.
Team photos are underway! Several teams had their pictures taken this week, and the remaining teams will be photographed over the next week. Watch for photos to be shared as they're ready.

Say Something Anonymous Reporting System
The Say Something-Anonymous Reporting System (ARS) program empowers students to be Upstanders and say something to a Trusted Adult when they recognize warning signs and threats. The Tip Line allows you to submit secure, anonymous safety concerns to help someone who may hurt themselves or others.
