Technology at Oakhurst: A Message from Principal Triplett
As we navigate the evolving role of technology in education, Oakhurst Elementary School and the City Schools of Decatur remain committed to balancing innovative learning with student safety. Principal Triplett has shared a letter addressing our community's questions regarding:
Safety & Privacy: Our district uses CIPA-compliant filtering and strict Technology Use Requirements (TUR) to protect students.
Supervision: Chromebook use is limited to periods of direct teacher supervision.
Digital Citizenship: Students engage in media literacy lessons during Crew meetings to learn what is real versus fake online.
Parent Partnership: We rely on open communication and family feedback to keep our safeguards effective.

Thank you,
Jennifer Triplett
