TOP HEADLINES
This school year more than 1.9 million meals have been served to students across our CVUSD schools! This figure includes breakfast and lunch at all levels and snacks served to the Extended Learning Opportunity Program (ELO-P).
We sincerely thank our Child Nutrition staff for their hard work and commitment to serving students each day, and we are grateful to our families for continuing to utilize and support these important meal services. Your partnership helps ensure students are nourished, ready to learn, and supported throughout the school day!
Introducing the LightSpeed Parent Portal for the 2026-2027 School Year
As part of the Conejo Valley Unified School District's continued focus on digital safety and family partnership, the CVUSD will be rolling out the LightSpeed Parent Portal for families this fall. The LightSpeed Portal is an optional resource that gives parents and guardians greater visibility into their student’s activity on district-issued devices outside of school hours, including weekly summaries of web activity and the ability to manage certain at-home access features. Parents and guardians will be able to disable access to specified websites outside of school hours, or even pause internet browsing completely.
The goal is to strengthen communication between schools and families, support healthy technology habits, and provide parents with additional tools to support safe and responsible digital citizenship at home. CVUSD successfully piloted the LightSpeed Parent Portal this spring with current CVUSD parents and guardians, who provided positive feedback regarding this digital tool.
CVUSD parents and guardians will receive an email from LightSpeed this fall with instructions for how to set up their cost-free, optional LightSpeed Parent Portal accounts.
We are so proud of the Class of 2026! This year, the graduation ceremonies for all five CVUSD high schools will once again be streamed live and available to watch online.
🎓At the below dates and times, each graduation will be available to watch *LIVE* via the CVUSD's Board Meetings YouTube Channel:

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office would like to address our youth and young adults' growing use of E-bikes, bicycles, and electric scooters. These vehicles can be useful in reducing traffic and allowing young people a means of transportation other than motor vehicles to school and other activities. However, we have seen recent increases in collisions involving our youth on e-bikes, bicycles, and scooters. The increased speed provided by E-bikes and electric scooters requires increased care in their use:
🛑 Traffic rules must be followed, and helmets must be worn at all times.
CVUSD 5th Graders Showcase Public Speaking Skills in Annual We the People Events
The photos below showcase our Acacia Magnet School for Enriched Learning students who shined on the stage last week, during their school's "We the People" event, where they demonstrated outstanding public speaking skills and engaged in respectful, meaningful dialogue with their peers.
In this year's competition, the students proudly earned 8 gold, 11 silver, and 13 bronze medals, in addition to 11 honorable mentions. Earning a medal or honorable mention on the National Spanish Exam (NSE) is a testament to students’ dedication and hard work.
Congratulations to all of the students who participated in the competition, we commend you for your hard work, determination and commitment to mastering the Spanish language! Click here to learn more.
