Notes & Reminders
Class Placement- Parent Input Form
During the month of May, we will begin the process of class placement for next year. We take great care in this process to ensure that each class is well balanced. Our goal is to provide your child with the best possible academic, social, and emotional environment to promote an optimal learning experience.
The teachers and I meet for many sessions, as we compose classes. We know your children well, their friendships, and the teaching styles of our faculty. When constructing a classroom, we look at many different factors including learning abilities, peer relationships, class size, strengths, challenges, diversity, as well as other factors, to create classrooms that foster social and academic development for all children. As in the past, all classes will be heterogeneous, meaning they will reflect various abilities.
2026-27 Parent Class Placement Input Form
As in the past, we only accept feedback regarding a specific teacher if a sibling has had that teacher in the past. Please understand that you cannot request specific teachers, as it would be inequitable. If there is information you would like us to consider, please complete this form no later than May 1st. We value the importance of this process, and work very thoughtfully to compose our classes each year.
If your child will not be returning to Rye Neck Schools in September, please notify Jeannine Teter, jteter@ryeneck.org, if you have not already done so.
Class placement information will be released in mid/late August. Thank you for your continued support.
Save the Date
April is Poetry Month! You are invited to join us for one of our most special traditions as we celebrate the end of Poetry Month with Poetry on the Patio.
Families are invited to join during your child’s Library period. Please save the date for your child’s class. We understand that due to working schedules, not everyone will be able to join. Please don’t worry– this is geared towards the students, and having them celebrate their learning and love of poetry.
See the class Poetry on the Patio schedule here.

PTSA Walk, Bike, Scoot to School Week AND Poetry Month
Poems are everywhere. Check out this poem titled, At The Bike Rack. We even decided to hang it outside where our DW bike rack is!
Poetry Post is Back!
As a culmination of National Poetry Month, we are thrilled to partner with the Village of Mamaroneck Arts Council for their "Poetry Post."
Parents are encouraged to provide the address of a friend or loved one for their student(s) to bring to school to help them address any postcards they may want to send.
Pictures coming soon! The Poetry Post will be located in the DW lobby, if you'd like to help your child during arrival.
First Grade "Celebration of Earth" Concert
What a wonderful first-grade concert celebrating Earth Day! 🌎 The students did an amazing job sharing their love for our planet through music—a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Clarke, DW music teacher, for a special celebration.
Students in KKG are "growing" as readers this Spring!
Thank you to everyone who came out to wake up the Daniel Warren Peace Garden yesterday afternoon! We can't wait to see our "rainbow" flower beds in full bloom. Don't forget you can volunteer on Tuesdays and Thursdays during recess. Here is the link to sign-up!
