March 2026 Bond
In March 2026, registered voters who live within the Olathe Public Schools boundaries will have the opportunity to vote in a no tax rate increase $389 million mail-in bond election that would positively impact all Olathe students.
Building on Excellence: In Olathe Public Schools the educational experience extends beyond the four walls of our classrooms. We are committed to Building on Excellence to pursue more ways to serve our students. Through extracurricular and co-curricular opportunities such as fine arts, theater, and athletics, students enjoy a well-rounded experience. Maintaining updated facilities and safe sports fields ensures continued access to high-quality programs.
- Rebuild Meadow Lane Elementary to create a more equitable learning environment for our oldest school
- Safety and Security to implement weapon detection for large events, replace radios and install security film on windows
- High School Updates to address building renovations based on age, which includes weight room expansions
- Middle School Updates to update locker rooms and weight rooms
- Elementary Updates to add additional playground equipment and fencing
By strengthening the spaces where learning, creativity and teamwork happen, these projects help ensure students can fully participate in the experiences that shape who they become. Bond 2026 is about maintaining safe, reliable and engaging environments where programs beyond the classroom allow students to thrive for years to come.

We need your help!
The Hospitality committee is planning a "We Love You To Pizzas" pizza bar during conferences on Wednesday Feb. 11th.
Please review the list and sign up to help treat our teachers/staff to a yummy dinner. You may begin bringing in non-perishable items on February 9th and place them in the teachers' lounge, clearly labeled with "PTO Meal."

Kindness Week Feb 16-20
Olathe Gears Up for Random Acts of Kindness Week Feb. 16-20
Random Acts of Kindness Week is Feb. 16-20, and the Olathe community is coming together to show that kindness truly ties us all together. Every school in the district will take part in a kindness activity all week long.
ALL community members are encouraged to join in, share their acts of kindness on social media, and tag Olathe Public Schools.
Wednesday, Feb. 18, is a citywide spirit day reminding us that KINDNESS TIES US TOGETHER! Wear tie-dye or a necktie to celebrate. Don’t have tie-dye? Olathe kindness tie-dye T-shirts and sweatshirts are available for purchase at https://bit.ly/OlatheKindnessMerch until Feb. 2. Half of the proceeds benefit the Braden Robertson Student Mental Health Fund, which provides critical access to mental health professionals for students in crisis.
This collaborative effort between Olathe Public Schools, the City of Olathe, and the Olathe Chamber of Commerce highlights the power of kindness and its ability to strengthen an entire community
Message from the Counselor
Hello Huskies!
Heatherstone Elementary will celebrate Random Acts of Kindness week, February 16-20th. Kindness Ties Us Together as our entire school district and the city participate in showing kindness.
Research shows that acts of kindness boost oxytocin and dopamine, chemicals linked to happiness and connection. This makes kindness good not only for others, but for us. Community members are encouraged to take part by performing a random act of kindness and sharing their experience on social media to help inspire others.
The entire eastside feeder pattern collaborated on a Stick with Kindness sticker contest and a Kindness Bingo activity. Congratulations to our winner, 3rd grader Gianna! Each student will receive a winning sticker from one of the schools like Heatherstone, California Trail, Pioneer Trail, Olathe East, etc. Also, students will get a bingo card filled with simple ideas to show kindness. Students complete kind acts and turn in completed bingos to the counselor for 1 small prize. Anyone that completes ALL the spaces by March 1st, can turn it in for a grand prize drawing.
Be kind and have fun! - Mrs. Smith, Counselor
