Safe2Tell: How You Can Keep Your Students Safe Safe2Tell: How You Can Keep Your Students Safe

Safe2Tekk Colorado
zoom_out_map

Safe2Tell is a statewide Colorado program that provides a safe, anonymous way for students, parents, and community members to report concerns about safety or well-being.

Safe2Tell is available 24/7, and it allows individuals to report issues such as bullying, threats, mental health concerns, or unsafe behavior through a phone line, website, or mobile app.

The goal is simple: early intervention to prevent harm and keep students safe.

Students often notice warning signs, such as bullying, social isolation, or threats, before adults do. Safe2Tell gives them a way to speak up when they may feel uncomfortable going directly to a teacher or parent.

Every report is taken seriously. Trained professionals review tips and quickly share them with appropriate school staff or law enforcement so action can be taken when needed. For parents, this means there is an additional layer of protection and communication supporting your child’s safety. Now how does Safe2Tell work?

● Reports can be made anonymously, no names or identifying information are required.

● Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

● Tips can be submitted by phone, online, or through the app.

● Information is forwarded to school officials or local authorities for follow-up.

● Anonymity is protected by Colorado law.

Now what can you do to keep your students and their peers safe?

1. Talk openly about safety. Encourage your student to speak up if they see or experience something concerning. Remind them that reporting is about helping, not getting someone in trouble.

2. Normalize asking for help. Let your child know it’s okay to go to a trusted adult first, but if that feels difficult, Safe2Tell is a reliable backup option.

3. Save the contact information. Consider helping your student save the Safe2Tell number or download the app on their phone so it’s easily accessible. Call 1-877-542-7233 or text “S2TCO” to 738477.

4. Watch for warning signs. Changes in behavior, withdrawal, or talk of violence or self-harm are important signals. Safe2Tell can be used by parents as well if you are concerned.

5. Reinforce community responsibility. Students play an important role in keeping each other safe. Reporting concerns can prevent situations from escalating.

Safe2Tell is most effective when students, parents, and schools work together. By encouraging awareness and communication, Chaparral High School families can help create an environment where students feel safe, supported, and empowered to speak up.

By increasing awareness, the community can better understand and utilize this resource to keep our students safe.

Thank you,

CHS Student Ambassador to the Safe2Tell Program

Supporting Academic Success through Consistent Attendance

To uphold our ongoing commitment to academic success and student engagement, Chaparral High School enforces an attendance policy for all school-sponsored dances. We believe that consistent attendance is vital to academic achievement and overall school involvement.

The Eligibility Requirement

To attend school dances, students must maintain a consistent presence in their classes. Students who accumulate more than 20% total absences will be ineligible to attend dances, including Homecoming, Winter Dance, and Prom.

Note: We encourage students to monitor their attendance records regularly throughout the semester to ensure they remain eligible for these events.

Support & Communication

We recognize that some students may encounter personal or medical challenges that affect their attendance. If your student is facing such circumstances, please communicate with their Counselor and Assistant Principal as soon as possible. Our goal is to support every student’s success. We are committed to working with families to address attendance concerns and find solutions before eligibility is impacted.
